IRKUTSK. The city drama theater on May 16 hosted the opening of the youth theater festival "Scarlet Sails". This festival, in which only amateur theaters participate, is being held for the eleventh time. The number of participants is constantly growing.

If last year 12 groups presented their works, now the stage space of the Irkutsk Drama Theater. Okhlopkova will host 17 amateur theaters representing different cities of the region. There were much more people wishing to take part in “Scarlet Sails” - the festival organizers had to make a choice between 44 candidates who applied for participation in the Irkutsk qualifying round. Applications were submitted in the form of video materials.

The festival performances were launched on May 16th. For the convenience of the audience, the festival poster was planned so that you could see all the performances planned for the festival day. Each of the performances will have its own theater stage, but the time of the show is determined so that after the performance there will be a short break. After the "intermission" you can see the production of the next theater.

The organizers and participants of “Scarlet Sails” have preserved the traditional ritual - the directors of the already shown performance pass on to the next participants a small boat, which is a symbol of the flight of dreams and the joy of creativity. This year the symbol of the festival has "grown up" - now it is decorated with four red sails.

The repertoire of the festival is diverse. The participants will present to the audience the classics of domestic and foreign dramaturgy, many theaters turned to the works of modern playwrights.
