The opening of the festival will be held May 12, 2013, on Sunday, at 14.00, at the Moscow State Academic Children’s Musical Theater named after N.I. Sats.
Festival organizers:

The history of the Bakhrushinsky festival is inextricably linked with the name of the founder of the Theater Museum - Alexei Alexandrovich Bakhrushin, a major industrialist and philanthropist. In Moscow, the famous Bakhrushin family was called "professional benefactors." They spared neither strength nor money for good deeds, although in their ordinary everyday life they behaved extremely modestly. With the money of the Bakhrushins, churches, hospitals, shelters, gymnasiums, and people’s houses with dining rooms and libraries were built in the capital and their hometown of Zaraysk.
In 2002, the leadership of the A.A. Theater Museum Bakhrushin, the Fund for the Revival of Culture and Traditions of Small Cities of Russia and the Administration of the Zaraysky Municipal District decided to turn to the historical past and the noble deeds of the Bakhrushin merchants by organizing the first Bakhrushin charity festival. Since then, holding this holiday has become a good tradition. Festival events are held simultaneously in Moscow and Zaraysk.
The anniversary, X Bakhrushinsky festival will open on May 12 at the Moscow State Academic Children’s Musical Theater named after N.I. Sats charity action "Silver threads of childhood" for orphans and children with disabilities.
Festival guests will become active participants in vibrant, theatrical performances. Before the start of the celebration, the children, together with well-known theater artists Irina Balashevich, Tatyana Spasolomskaya, Ksenia Shimanovskaya, will draw the heroes of the fairy tale “The Adventures of Pinocchio”, play with animators, and meet with the children’s theater groups “Little Fairy” and Children’s Theater “Youth”.
The festival will be officially opened by the Director General of the State Central Museum of Music named after A.A. Bakhrushina Dmitry Rodionov, the head of the Zaraisk municipal district Andrei Evlanov and the soloist of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Vladimir Matorin, president of the Fund for the revival of culture and traditions of small towns of Russia.
Then the guys will see Jonathan Dove’s opera “The Adventures of Pinocchio” - a joint production of the N.I. Sats and Opera North (UK). By the way, this performance will be parting - the opera will be shown in Russia for the last time.
At the end of the holiday, children and adults will launch silver balls into the sky and make the most secret wishes, which, according to the good tradition of the Bakhrushinsky Charity Festival, will certainly come true!
