MOSCOW. The Department of Culture of the city of Moscow, together with the Moscow Cinema chain of cinemas, will open the doors of the Traveling Russia film festival on July 1. The film forum will begin with the screening of the film “The White Moss” by director Vladimir Tumaev, which tells about the complexities of life in the tundra, as well as about the difficult choices between emotions and the memory of ancestors that the young generation has to make.

The central theme of the festival will be the program “Russia through the eyes of foreigners”, within the framework of which screenings of several works by foreign filmmakers will take place, in which they showed Russian life the way it is seen. These are the films “Wild Odyssey” and “Siberian Odyssey” directed by Nicolas Varnier, “Dersu Uzala” by Akira Kurosawa and the short film almanac “Russian Winter Cinema Train”. Another film in the framework of the program is “The Russian Latino Way”, although it was shot by a domestic director, it is dedicated to the impressions of foreign tourists from Russia.

Also in this block, viewers will be presented with two modern feature films created in a joint production with Russia. The film “As Spite, Siberia” (directed by Ralph Hüttner), co-produced by Germany - Russia, is a film about a German who went on a business trip to the south of Siberia, where adventure, friendship and love await him. The second picture is “The Adventures of Little Italians” (production Italy - Russia). The film is addressed to children and tells a fascinating adventure story about Italian children who must secretly go to Moscow to return the price to their coach’s puck.

In addition to The Adventures of Little Italians, the festival’s children’s program also included films from the Master studio. Young Moscow viewers will get acquainted with three tales created at a studio in Yekaterinburg.

The culmination of the Traveling Russia festival will be a meeting with the famous Italian journalist and photographer Stefanie Dzini, who has been traveling to different regions of Russia for many years. At the event, which will be held on the day of the end of the festival on July 4, the traveler will tell about her adventures and share unique photos.
