THE STORY OF CHRIST
(a poem in prose)
The story of Jesuss path is woven from the diamonds of the sky. A quiet hut, a mother by the door, Joseph at his workbench, and the sweet-sweet scent of sawdust, a drowsy-warm aroma of childhood... A Roman soldier walks down the street...
Did Jesuss path lead east, to the luminous abyss of ancient, powerful, closed monasteries? Did they imbue the young Jesus with wisdom – all the wisdom accumulated over centuries, so that he could surpass it, penetrate it with his soul, and leave it far behind? The golden threads of the gospel stories offer only a framework, thin-thin, and words – so vast that no human heart was ever able to contain them...
Seashells mixed with sand crunch underfoot, empty pearlescent shells crackle, and someone, seeing the idle hands of muscular fishermen, creates a magical catch, promising further capture of souls...
The tents of gospel parables, welcoming all who wish, but requiring them to be different – easy to transform, becoming something else under the light. But where is that light? We dont see it...
A simple man, Jesus – with a radiant purity of karma – cultivates within himself a macrocrystal of Christ, an enormous, unearthly flower of divinity; in the nectar of divine qualities, human traits dissolve, and angel-thoughts will serve him who has accomplished this feat...
The luminous vault of Christ expands over us for twenty centuries, expanding, shining, the twenty-first – magical, mystical, promising something unknown...

Below the cross stands a solitary figure, presumably a saint, clad in monastic robes with a blue cloak draped over his shoulders. The saint’s posture is one of profound reverence and contemplation; he gazes upwards at Christ with an expression that conveys both sorrow and devotion. His hands are clasped in prayer, further emphasizing his spiritual connection to the scene unfolding above. A halo encircles his head, signifying his sanctity.
The background is a pale, neutral space framed by vertical bands of muted color – pale green and reddish-brown – that serve to isolate the figures and direct attention towards the central narrative. The ground beneath the cross appears as a rough, textured surface, suggesting an arid or desolate landscape.
Subtleties within the painting suggest a complex interplay of themes. The saint’s presence implies a witness to Christs suffering, potentially representing the role of faith and intercession in divine redemption. His posture suggests not only grief but also acceptance and understanding of the sacrifice being depicted. The stark simplicity of the composition, coupled with the directness of the figures’ gazes, evokes a sense of immediacy and emotional intensity. The artist seems to be aiming for a portrayal that is both deeply personal and universally resonant, inviting viewers to contemplate themes of faith, suffering, and salvation.
