Очень интересно Тарковский эту картину использовал в своем кино.
Видел на выставке в Уффици в сентябре 2017 после реставрации – впечатление-сильнейшее – такая сила красота и мощь – захватывает дух хотя это набросок

To the left, the ruins of Classical architecture suggest a dying world, making way for the new era brought by Christ. A rearing horse and a struggle among onlookers near these ruins can be interpreted as the turmoil and resistance that often accompany profound change. To the right, a dark, gnarled tree, possibly an olive tree (symbolizing peace and wisdom), stands over a group of figures, hinting at divine presence and protection amidst the chaos. The background is filled with more figures and architectural elements, further contributing to the sense of a crowded, significant event unfolding.
The overall subtext of the painting is the profound impact of Christs birth on humanity. The disarray of the figures, the ruin of the old world, and the varied reactions of awe, devotion, and even struggle all point to the transformative power of this divine event. Its not a serene, orderly Nativity, but a complex and emotionally charged depiction of humanity encountering the divine, with all the disruption and wonder that such an encounter entails. The unfinished nature of the painting also adds to its mystique and allows for contemplation of Leonardos artistic process and his exploration of human emotion and spiritual significance.
