THE SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT
The social environment is like a true habitat. But is this truly authentic?
During rush hour on the subway, loving your neighbor is an impossible task. You are pushed, you push others. Its hot and stuffy. Misanthropy grows in consciousness, a tangible sour mass that clogs the convolutions of the brain. People reduced to bodies, degraded into coarse material shells... Each body is a cover for the abyss, and you cant imagine this from your own, more or less settled life.
The appearance of an environment – apartments, offices, transportation, streets, stores – makes us forget about true authenticity, about the metaphysical gold present in every soul. The external, the superficial become the alpha of our perception, and the coarseness, the materiality of the external infects the soul like bacilli. True life is within; the real reasons are always outside the system we perceive as our environment.
The social environment, like a sum of embodied impulses... but where do they come from? Not denying the external, which would be madness, you feel that your true environment is your own mental, spiritual, and intellectual state... only how much light is there? How much are you striving to grow? The radiation of positivity, which cleanses the environment, requires effort, because its easier to respond to rudeness with rudeness than with a smile, or even silence.
The authenticity of the external, seemingly authentic environment is questionable if internal work has at least begun.
And putting an end to it is impossible; death wont put one either. But the social environment, no matter how powerful and aggressive it may be, can no longer hold you back...
