On the left panel, we observe a baptismal scene. A figure, presumably John the Baptist, stands in water, gesturing towards another central figure who appears to be undergoing ritual purification. Surrounding them are several onlookers, their faces rendered with varying degrees of emotion – some appear reverent, others curious. The landscape is suggested through simplified forms and muted greens, creating a sense of enclosure and focus on the spiritual event unfolding. The central panel depicts a procession or entry into a city. A man rides atop an animal, flanked by numerous individuals who appear to be both participants and observers.
