The personal exhibition of the work of the traveler and artist Fyodor Konyukhov is open in the capital’s museum

MOSCOW. The Moscow Museum of Modern Art on December 10 presented an exhibition of paintings and drawings made by world famous traveler Fyodor Konyukhov. The exposition contains the artist’s work for the period 1970-2014. Graphics and painting are supplemented by maps on which the routes of his travels are visually presented. Some of the visitors to the exhibition were attracted by the name of the author on the poster of the museum.

Fedor Konyukhov became famous thanks to the many extreme trips they made. He is the only person in the world who has been to all five poles of our planet. In addition to the geographical poles, but conquered the pole of heights - the peak of Everest. He visited Cape Horn, proudly bearing the title of Pole Yachtsmen.

Another pole, located in the vast Arctic Ocean, and bearing the name of the Pole of relative inaccessibility, Konyukhov also honored with his presence. Konyukhov became the first Russian to complete the program “Seven World Peaks”. He visited the highest points of each of the continents.

A lot of television films were made about his travels, so this side of the life of Fedor Konyukhov has long been public. The other part of the widest sphere of interests of the famous traveler is known mainly to those who are interested in art. They are well aware that in each new journey the artist creates new scenes of paintings, and sketches for them can be created both during the conquest of the ice peaks, and on board the yacht. Over the years of creativity, Fyodor Konyukhov created more than three thousand paintings.

Konyukhov became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1983. He received the high title of Honorary Academician at the Russian Academy of Arts.

An exhibition of the works of the artist Fedor Konyukhov awaits visitors on January 25th.
