The exhibition "War and Peace of the Artist A.V. Platitsin (1923-2013)" is open in the Tambov Art Gallery

TAMBOV. The exhibition of the artist Arkady Platitsin in the regional art gallery began a series of events dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory. More than 150 drawings and watercolors are presented at the exhibition of a war veteran, combat pilot Arkady Platitsin. Throughout life, the theme of war has remained leading in the work of the artist.

The graphics, where events come to life, the witness and participant of which was Arkady Vasilyevich himself, are important not only in artistic value. This documentary work allows you to see episodes of the war through the eyes of the artist, who participated in it from the very first days, and who met the victory in Berlin. Among the numerous awards there is the Order of the Patriotic War, a substantial number of medals and the Order of Friendship of Peoples.

The exposition is made up of works belonging to the family of Arkady Platitsin, as well as works stored in the collections of the art gallery. Many of the works devoted to wartime events were presented to the audience for the first time. This gives the exposition a special uniqueness.

The name of the exhibition, which contains the words “War and the artist’s world…”, completely defines the idea of the exposition - it contains works dedicated to peacetime. Under the concept of "peace", the artist combines the works dedicated to the beauty of his surrounding nature and the children to whom Arkady Vasilyevich devoted all his post-war life.

After graduating from a teacher training college in Moscow, where he received the specialty of a graphic artist, A. Platitsin spent his whole life in Michurinsk. He was the founder and director of the children’s art school, headed the art studio in the House of Pioneers. Among the students of A. Platitsin there are famous masters of fine art who have become folk and honored artists.
