"Painting and Graphics by Arvi Huttunen" - an exhibition in Murmansk on the 95th anniversary of the artist

MURMANSK. On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the oldest artist in Murmansk, Arvi Huttunen, a personal exhibition is opened in the art museum, which represents painting and graphics made by this unique person. At the opening of the exhibition was crowded, because Arvi Ivanovich, who has been living in Murmansk since 1948, is known to many residents of the Arctic.

The master, who met at the opening ceremony of the exposition with colleagues and fans of his work, received flowers and congratulations, talked with guests. At the meeting, many kind words were addressed to the hero of the day, who dedicated his talent to singing the nature of the North.

Arvi Ivanovich is still sometimes asked a question about the reason for his love of northern nature. The answer always sounds the same - it was love at first sight, preserved in his soul for life. The artist traveled a lot, but the North always remained for him the main source of inspiration.

Landscapes painted by Arvi Huttunen surprisingly harmoniously combine the conciseness of compositions with unusual color schemes. The ice and hills depicted on his canvases are filled with bright colors, which gives them a fantastic look. This is how the artist sees the world of the Arctic, so he opens it to other people.

During the time devoted to the artist’s creativity, he showed his works at more than one hundred solo exhibitions. The exposition of the opening anniversary exhibition consists of 40 works by Arvi Huttunen stored in the collection of the regional art museum.

The museum contains almost all the works of the artist, and he created more than one hundred of them. In addition to the paintings on his account, the design of many public buildings in Murmansk, Kirov and other cities of the North.

An exhibition of the works of the honored artist and honorary polar explorer Arvi Huttunen can be seen until September 3.
