MOSCOW. This weekend Moscow hosted the final ceremony of the Nos Literary Prize, established by the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation. After the public debate of the “experts of the prize” and the “jury of the prize”, which are a feature of “Nose,” it was determined by voting that the winner of this year was the book of the Moscow writer “King of the Drowned”. The work consists of stories and essays of different lengths, as well as the title story. According to the results of the online voting held on the official website of the award, the work of Telluria by Vladimir Sorkin won.

Alexei Tsvetkov (who is sometimes called the "younger" to distinguish from a poet with the same name and surname living in New York), unlike Sorokin, is little known to the general public. 39-year-old writer from his student years spent in the Literary Institute. A.M. Gorky, acquired a glorious utterance of left-wing beliefs, and is also known for his penchant for radical action, both in social activities and in literature.

Tsvetkov is one of the co-founders of the Tsiolkovsky bookstore, where he has been working in recent years, and also writes columns and teaches. Some of these columns were included in his book The King of the Drowned. It is worth noting that at the end of 2014 this work won the Alexander Bely Prize. Then, at the presentation of the award, Tsvetkov said: "I am glad that this year Bely turned Red." But at the Nos award ceremony, there were no such radical statements.

Recall that the literary prize "Nose" was established in 2009. The laureate receives a cash award in the amount of 700 thousand rubles. In turn, the winner of the online voting is awarded 200 thousand rubles. The name of the award "Nose" is an abbreviation that stands for - "New literature, new sociality." This year, the “King of the Drowned” Tsvetkov fully meets this slogan.
