In April 2014, the best Russian creative teams will be guests of the Costa Rica Art Festival

From April 3 to 13, 2014, residents of Costa Rica will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the best creative groups in Russia who will take part in the San Jose Festival of Arts as part of a bilateral cultural exchange between the countries.

The Russian program is diverse and extensive. On April 3, the official program of events will be opened by the Gala Concert of soloists of the Mariinsky Opera and the Bolshoi Theater at the San Jose National Theater. Among the participants of the gala are Sergei Semishkur (tenor) - the soloist of the Mariinsky Theater, Gelena Gaskarova (soprano) - the soloist of the Mariinsky Theater, Olesya Petrova (mezzo-soprano) - the invited soloist of the Mariinsky Theater, Igor Golovatenko (baritone) - the soloist of the Novaya Opera theater, the invited soloist The Bolshoi Theater. The stars of the Russian opera stage will be accompanied by the Costa Rica National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alim Shah, the famous Russian conductor, artistic director of the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra of the Opera and Ballet Theater of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, the author of many musical projects in Russia and Europe. The program of the gala concert of Russian soloists includes popular arias from world famous operas such as The Barber of Seville by J. Rossini, Eugene Onegin by P. Tchaikovsky, The Marriage of Figaro by W. Mozart, as well as Neapolitan songs full of sparkling joy and heat, and therefore so beloved by the most demanding public in any country in the world. The next day, in the Basilica of Cartago, a second gala concert will be held for fans of the opera of Costa Rica.

It is difficult to imagine a Russian cultural program without a folklore component. And this time, the whole city will become a stage - from April 10 to 12, the St. Petersburg Bis Quit instrumental ensemble will perform at open venues in San Jose along with brilliant performers - Mariinsky Theater soloists Karina Chepurnova and Alexander Trofimov. Thousands of spectators will be able to join and sing along to Russian performers: Kalinka, Valenoks and Black Eyes, which the whole world knows. Performances will be held in the open arena for mass events "Tarima Musica del Mundo", the jazz arena of the Festival, as well as in the open arena for mass events "Tarima Boulevard".

Complete the program on April 12 and 13 two concerts of the legendary State Academic Russian Folk Choir named after M.E. Pyatnitsky in the theater. Meliko Salazar. This unique illustrious choir group has its history since 1911 and is a kind of creative repository where original Russian folk songs, music and dances are carefully transmitted from one generation of artists to another, and at the same time, thanks to the real professional work of this unique ensemble, they acquire modern forms, preserving the original traditions of Russian folklore.

the holding of such events will undoubtedly contribute to the rapprochement of our countries, the development of a constructive dialogue and good partnership. Obviously, 2014 will open up new opportunities for cultural, political and economic cooperation between Russia and Costa Rica.
