The Grand Prix of the Artdocfest festival won the Danish film

MOSCOW. The Danish film "Man Lives for the Better" directed by Hannah Polack won the Grand Prix of the eighth Artdocfest International Documentary Film Festival, which ended in Moscow on Wednesday.

The Polak film is based on the story of a mother and daughter living in the largest landfill in Europe, which is located in the Moscow Region. “Julia and her mother live in one of the harshest places in the world - at the largest landfill in Europe, located near Moscow. They have a lot of friends. And although life is not very welcoming to the girl, even here there is a place for love, beauty and dreams. Julia wants to change her life, ”tells the story of the film in the festival catalog.

In the nomination "Best Feature Film" won the picture "Grumant. The Island of Communism ”of the Russian director, member of the Guild of Non-Fiction Films Ivan Tverdovsky Sr. The film "On the Edge" of another member of the Guild Anna Shishova won the special prize of the jury of the competition.

More than 200 film screenings took place in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Riga from December 9 to 17 as part of the competition screening program. The festival was full of Russian premieres, international television bridges and discussions of films of competitive and non-competitive programs. 21 films took part in the official program of the Artdocfest festival. Films were evaluated by film director Alexander Mitta, cartoonist Andrei Bilzho and theater director Konstantin Bogomolov.
