In "Illusion" and "Five Stars on Paveletskaya" ended the festival of Polish cinema "Wisla"

MOSCOW. Distribution of “Elephants” and materialization of new films at the traditional Polish Cinema Week.

The week of Polish cinema, the ninth season of which ended in the metropolitan cinema "Five Stars on Paveletskaya", is an event always expected. Especially taking into account the long absence of Polish paintings at the Russian box office, with the possible exception of a few co-productions featuring Western stars. In the current political situation, the preservation of cultural ties between countries is of great importance.

The Polish Institute of Cinematography willingly finances not only potentially successful projects, but also arthouse tapes. The week traditionally offers a wide range of current innovations of author’s, commercial, student films. A warm nostalgic note is made by retrospectives. Last year, they remembered the best films of the popular Jerzy Oskar Stuhr. In 2016, the organizers offered reviews of the work of the masters - the genius Krzysztof Kieślowski, who died twenty years on the operating table, and Andrzej Żuławski, who left in February this year.

The main prize of the IX festival - “Elephant” from the jury of the Guild of film critics and film critics went to the light and tragic story “My daughters of a cow” (Moje córki krowy) Kinga Dębska about the opportunity to forgive and knock on a loved one in the face of imminent loss. Audience sympathy and the prize symbolizing them were given to the Planeta Singli tape about Mitja Okorn about the search for the ideal man, which can lead to unexpected results. The frank “United States of Love” (Zjednoczone Stany Miłosci) about three heroines in the absence of love and intimate life was awarded a diploma at the close of the Week of May 26.
