Channel "Spas" will show the shrines of Russia

In the Novgorod and Pskov regions, the filming of the new project “Shrines of Russia”, jointly with the Federal Agency for Tourism and the Patriarchal Council for Culture, began. The eponymous program on the Spas TV channel will be shown in September. Presenters Anton and Victoria Makarsky will introduce viewers to Orthodox shrines, as well as share tips on organizing tourist and pilgrimage trips.

The other day, filming of the first season of the TV program “Shrines of Russia” began, which will introduce the channel’s viewers to the unique monuments of the religious history of Russia, objects of spiritual heritage, tourist and pilgrimage routes in several regions of Russia.

The film crew has already visited Veliky Novgorod, where they visited the Novgorod Kremlin and the Yuryev Monastery, as well as at regional objects of cultural and religious heritage located in the region - Valdai Iversky Bogoroditsky Holy Monastery of the Holy Fathers Monastery, Transfiguration Anthony-Leokhnovsky Monastery, Resurrection Cathedral and the Church of St. George in the city of Staraya Russa.

Ahead are the shrines of the Pskov land: the Pskov Kremlin, Trinity Cathedral, St. John the Theologian Savo-Krypetsk Monastery, as well as the Transfiguration of the Savior Mirozhsky and Holy Assumption Pskov-Pechersky Monasteries and the Talab Islands.

Channel “Spas” began broadcasting in 2005. The formation of a worldview and a system of moral coordinates based on Orthodox values is the main mission of the channel. Every weekday airing begins with the morning informational and educational program “New Day with Alena Gorenko” - a television magazine about people and events that change our lives for the better. Prime weekday opens with the Slovo program - a conversation with famous guests about the most personal path to faith and life values. The heroes of the program were Vyacheslav Fetisov, Yuri Antonov, Oksana Fedorova, Leonid Yakubovich, Rodion Nakhapetov, Svetlana Khorkina and more than a hundred guests. The evening informational and analytical show “Spas. Live ”- a lively discussion with experts, a Christian look at the most relevant topics. On Fridays, at the same time, Arkady Mamontov’s program “Traces of the Empire” is released, combining screenings of documentaries and talk shows on the subject of Russian history. Experts - historians, writers, political scientists, as well as schoolchildren and students participate in the discussion.

Weekly at Spas, another author’s program, Schipkov, is released. About the intricacies of religion, culture and politics tells the political philosopher and public figure Alexander Schipkov.

In the spring of 2018, a unique life-affirming program "I really want to live" with Daria Dontsova appeared on television. In a frank conversation, the heroes of the program, faced with a terrible diagnosis of "oncology", share their stories with the host. Another premiere of the summer season is the “Meeting” project, designed for a young audience. Each week, a servant of the Church of St. Basil the Great in the village of Zaitsevo near Moscow, a preacher, TV presenter, Archpriest Andrei Tkachev will meet in the studio with the most “lively” and curious audience - young girls and boys, and answer questions that concern any seeker: what is faith and what is God?

There is no place for the intrigues and scandals that the tabloids are chasing, these are sincere stories of people loving each other who share recipes for a happy family life. At the same time, Spas began broadcasting a series of short films, Faith in the City, authored by the extraordinary director of our time, Valeria Gai Germanika. The host of the program challenges her characters to an honest, frank conversation about how to live by faith every day. Its guests, the so-called “opinion leaders” from the business community, the media, and art representatives with experience in Orthodox life and success in the secular professional space, answer the questions: “What is faith and does it interfere in life?”, “What is it is it to be an Orthodox and successful modern person? ” This video is addressed to an audience interested in Christianity, seeking inspiration and overcoming prejudice to step on the path to the Church. The channel’s updated programmatic grid also includes documentary films of its own production, popular Russian feature films and classics of Soviet cinema, cartoons and children’s programs. On Sundays, the television channel broadcasts the Divine Liturgy (most often with the Holy Patriarch).
