Exhibition "To be honest:
the joys and fears of Crimean artists"

March 9 in the gallery of contemporary art "theHARASHO" (ICTI "Golden Key") will open the exhibition "To be honest: the joys and fears of Crimean artists." On this day, visitors to the gallery will meet with the curator and the authors of the projects, as well as the international jury of the competition.

The art project “To be honest: the fears and joys of Crimean artists” is an attempt at a frank conversation about good and evil, hope and despair, victories and defeats.

This desire to give the art life of Crimea a new speed, to introduce Crimean authors and the Crimean public to the achievements of European art.

This is a search for alternatives in presenting curatorial projects.

Since the beginning of November 2017, more than 40 applications have been received reflecting personal stories and universal vices. Professional and amateur artists were invited to participate. The main requirement for a competitive project is an interesting idea, skillfully expressed in an art form.

Future finalists were selected by an international jury:

Venera KURMAEVA (Crimea) - theater and film artist. Chairman of the Sevastopol regional branch of the Union of Designers of Russia LLC.

Ayder ALIYEV (Crimea) - sculptor, artist, teacher. Honored Artist of Ukraine and Crimea.

Tatyana SEDLOVA (Slovakia) - art dealer, curator of international exhibitions and projects in Europe.

Ramazan USEINOV (Crimea) - artist, teacher. Honored Artist of Ukraine and Crimea.

Alexander KADNIKOV (Crimea) - photographer, teacher.

Elena ALEKSEEVA (Crimea) - artist, designer, art critic, teacher.

Directly at the exhibition, theHARASHO Gallery will feature more than 30 art objects from ten finalists of the project. The exposition series will consist of installations, sculptural compositions, paintings, graphic and photographic series. The participants are from Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yevpatoriya, as well as the Crimean photographer, who currently lives in St. Petersburg, and the artist who moved to Crimea from Krasnodar. Along with the finalists, the jury of the project will take part in the exhibition: Honored Artist of Ukraine Ayder Aliyev (sculpture), Honored Artist of Ukraine Ramazan Useinov (painting), photographer Alexander Kadnikov (installation), artist Elena Alekseeva (graphic), theater and film artist Venera Kurmaeva (decorative -applied art).

The Fairness exhibition is focused not so much on creating a physical object as on ideas that challenge the public. The art of the participants is designed to awaken the feelings of the viewer, to help understand themselves, to look at the world in a new way.

It is impossible to find one comprehensive solution to human problems, therefore, the separate directions of the exhibition “Clearly” coincide on the topic, but do not repeat each other. Projects differ in content, form, and most importantly, the authors voiced a proposal on how to avoid or break out of a circle of vicious circumstances.

The art project is carried out on the initiative of the Cultural Chronicle online publication with the support of the LukasGallery online contemporary art gallery, the Republican Crimean Tatar Library named after Ismail Gasprinsky GBUK, and the Sevastopol Professor S.O. Izidinov Crimean Tatar Culture Revival Foundation.
