Luo Si Painting and Sculpture Exhibition

On June 1, a personal exhibition of painting and sculpture by the young artist Luo Xi will begin to work in the ArtMusa creative cluster.

Luo Xi was born in China, has been living in St. Petersburg since he was 5 years old. He grew up in a family of artists of traditional Chinese art. From early childhood he became interested in the artistic work of the European and Russian classical schools. In 2006 he entered the St. Petersburg State Academic Art Lyceum. B.V. Johanson at the Russian Academy of Arts, where he achieved impressive success. His work participated in collective exhibitions, won the competitions of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I. E. Repin and the Art and Industrial Academy. Stieglitz. Received a prize at the All-Russian creative competition "Constellation of Talents". During his studies at the Lyceum, the first solo exhibitions of creative works took place.

After graduating from high school with honors, in 2012, Luo Xi without entrance exams was enrolled in the Faculty of Painting of the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin. Studying at the Academy of Arts, he continues to conduct independent and active creative activity, participates in exhibitions and competitions, including the annual Igor Minakov Prize competition, where he won the 2013 Audience Award nomination (the theme of the Circus contest). In 2014, he won first place in the main competition program in the nomination “Painting” (the theme of the competition was “Theater. Ballet. Spectator”). In 2015, he became a laureate of the All-Russian contest “The Muse Should Work”.

His works were presented at worthy venues in St. Petersburg, Moscow, the People’s Republic of China, including as personal exhibitions. Lo Xi’s paintings are in private collections in Russia and abroad, in museum collections in China.

Lo Xi’s creativity is perceived in his style whole and recognizable, from the earliest works to the present time, developing, improving technically and covering new topics, he remains faithful to the chosen artistic language. Images and plots, often even with all their natural accuracy, go beyond reality and create a sense of mystical otherness. In his works, the influence of the European classical art school with an Eastern worldview is synthesized. Therefore, being a characteristic representative of the St. Petersburg art school, Luo Xi remains an original author.
