Дух завораживает!
Как картина из Третьяковки попала в собрание картин Эрмитажа?
The painting is indeed at the Tretyakov Gallery, but its in a special section with paintings of very high resolution and quality. There are a few other paintings that were included in the same photoshoot. Think of it as being temporarily on display there. ))
Согласен, пусть погостит...
The most famous painting by Shishkin. Its a pity that its mostly known because of candies, but at least people are getting some cultural exposure this way!
The bears in the painting were painted by Konstantin Apollonovich Savitsky. He also suggested the plot to Ivan Shishkin. Interestingly, according to K. A. Savitsky, the bear cubs turned out so well that he even signed his own name on the painting. However, when the painting was exhibited at the Tretyakov Gallery, Tretyakov erased the signature. As a result, we know this painting primarily as a work by Ivan Shishkin.
Самая вкусная картина!
Картина одна из лучших (на мой взгляд) этого ХУДОЖНИКА
Thank you so much for this enriching experience! ... Interestingly, since childhood, Im aware of that feeling of bittersweet joy when an artist is fortunate enough to witness and capture such an intimate moment.

FEELING: Unity and merging with nature.

С детства эту картину обожаю!!!! Очень красивая!!!
Regarding the case of just three bear cubs and a she-bear.
Three or four years ago, about 45 kilometers from Smolensk, a villager heard splashing in the river while in the forest. He looked and saw a she-bear with three cubs. The bear attacked the man. Somehow he managed to defend himself, but he was taken to the hospital in Smolensk. People in Smolensk know about this incident.
Мне очень нравиться!

медведей рисовал Шишкин и Савицкий вместе.
In one show, I heard that Savitsky conceived of a painting but was afraid to paint the forest and asked Shishkin. In another source, its said that Savitsky suggested including bears in the painting (or that Shishkin asked him to do so). So, where is the truth?

People, please leave thoughtful comments! You should write the essay yourself and not copy it from somewhere else!
The painting is truly very touching, as are all of the artists works, but thanks to the young bear family, the painting has gained immense popularity worldwide. Also, Morning in a Pine Forest is considered a symbol of Russia because the bear itself is a symbol, and then theres also the nature of the Russian countryside! For me, this work is one of my favorite paintings in Russian art! It reminds me of childhood.
Thank you for your attention,
I wish everyone happiness!
воспоминание о детстве, это ковер у моей кровати

ОЧЕНЬ КРАСИВО
Картина великолепна! В ней частица души!!
More comments, good and diverse ones! Its great to see the continued interest in this work. The work is quite controversial even after reading the comments, let alone the articles dedicated to it. And its not just a controversial work; it also contains a mystery (The painting Morning in a Pine Forest is one of the most striking and notable works in the artists oeuvre. If you look at it for a long time, you get what we would call today a 3D effect, meaning depth, as if you are transported to the pine forest. sakha. gov.ru›en/node/38061). For example, I plan to tell you about another mystery related to this very effect soon, possibly even on this website. – Andrey Kulakov.
картина мне безусловно нравится! я описываю данное проезведение, оно классное )))

The painting instantly transports me back to my childhood... because I spent almost all of my childhood with my beloved grandmother. And on the wall of one of the rooms, there was this beautiful painting.

Perhaps the most famous painting by the outstanding Russian landscape painter I. I. Shishkin is Morning in a Pine Forest. The painting was created in 1889.
It is believed that the idea for the painting was suggested to Shishkin by the well-known artist Savitsky, K. A. In fact, it was the hand of this artist that painted the she-bear and the playing bear cubs. However, Tretyakov, who purchased the canvas, decided to attribute authorship solely to Shishkin, as he believed that the main work was done by him.
Perhaps it was the fascinating plot of the painting that contributed to its popularity, but the true value of the canvas lies in the accurately conveyed state of nature. Before us is not just a pine forest, but a dense thicket that begins to awaken early in the morning. The sun has just risen. Its bold rays have already gilded the tops of huge trees and penetrated deep into the thicket, but over the deep ravine, a damp fog still lingers.
The inhabitants of the thicket are awake – three bear cubs and their mother. It seems that the little ones are full and content. They carelessly and clumsily frolic on the broken trunk of a fallen pine tree, while the she-bear attentively watches their play, sensitively reacting to the rustling of the awakening forest. The mighty pine tree, which a hurricane once uprooted, and the bear family playing on it – all this creates in us a feeling of isolation and remoteness of this corner of wild nature.
The painting Morning in a Pine Forest shows how skillfully Shishkin solves the problem of interaction between color and light in painting. The color palette of the background of the canvas is transparent and undefined, while the foreground is deep, colorful, and well-developed. In the painting, which has rightfully become a model of landscape for many generations, the artists admiration for the beauty and richness of pristine nature is fully conveyed.
In addition to the description of I. I. Shishkins painting Morning in a Pine Forest, our website contains numerous descriptions of paintings by various artists that can be used both when preparing to write an essay about a painting and simply for a more complete acquaintance with the works of famous masters of the past.

In the foreground of the painting, the artist depicts four bear cubs. Two bears have climbed onto a broken tree, while a third bear is trying to join them, as if wanting to climb up too. We also see a fourth bear standing on a piece of the broken tree and looking forward into the mist. Its evident that the author loves animals and beautiful nature; these gorgeous trees and four lovely bear cubs, one of whom seems to be waiting for another bear to join them. I really like this painting; the landscape is beautiful, and its very picturesque. I would love to take a walk there myself.
The painting Morning in a Pine Forest by Ivan Shishkin is very interesting and positive. It depicts cheerful bear cubs and their mother. The painting is filled with love, joy, and freshness. What is it like, that morning in the pine forest? In the forest, there is silence, you can only hear the singing of birds, a slight coolness and freshness that invigorates incredibly. The sun has just risen, but already delights with its warmth, and there is no one around. The artist depicts a clearing where we observe a family of bears. Three small and cheerful bear cubs are playing carefree, climbing trees, and entertaining each other. One of the cubs is gazing at the sun, whose rays have penetrated deep into the forest. Their mother seems slightly displeased; shes probably scolding the little ones so they dont misbehave. You can understand her; shes worried about her children, thats why she grumbles. The atmosphere in the painting is very pleasing to the eye. The artist has depicted the forest so realistically that it seems as if you are seeing it with your own eyes. Youre hiding behind a bush and quietly observing the bears, afraid to make even the slightest sound; its an enchanting feeling. Ivan Shishkin has chosen the colors in the painting very skillfully; the painting is easily perceived even by young children. I really liked this painting; when you look at it, you immediately start smiling – thats what a morning in a pine forest is like.
The morning in the pine forest is undoubtedly a masterpiece. At first glance, its not just a painting; its a scene from a Russian folk tale. The first things that catch your eye are, of course, the bear cubs. These are dangerous predators, but they look so cute.
The bear cubs are frolicking, greeting the new day. For them, this is not just a pine forest; its their home, where they play, find food, and learn to be independent. Since ancient times, bears have been considered the masters of the forest. The presence of bears in the painting provides a more complete picture of wildlife – how the forest lives in the morning and how everything comes alive within it. In the painting, you can see how the mother bear worries about her cubs, looking around to make sure there is no danger nearby.
The morning in the forest is slightly misty and sleepy. The artist has remarkably captured the richness, fairytale-like quality, and mystery of the forest. You really want to go further, delve into its depths, and definitely find something mysterious. Your imagination runs wild. Looking at the painting, you begin to imagine how cool it is in the forest at dawn, how the bear cubs roar, the crackle of branches under the mother bears paws, the singing of birds, various unfamiliar sounds somewhere far away, deep within the forest. And you want, for just a moment, to become an invisible inhabitant of the pine forest, to see all this beauty with your own eyes.
Before us is a painting by Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin: Morning in a Pine Forest.
In the foreground, we see four bear cubs on a fallen tree. Behind them lies an endless, misty forest. Perhaps there was a hurricane that caused the pine to fall. We can assume that a family of bears previously had their den in this spot, but the mother of the cubs has disappeared somewhere. Most likely, the cub standing on the edge is looking into the distance, hoping to see its mother. Two younger siblings are playing on the broken pine tree, while an older cub keeps watch over them, making sure no one falls. However, the mother still hasnt been found. Although the scene in the foreground may seem bleak, rays of hope break through the trees. The artist suggests that everything will end wonderfully, and the family will soon reunite. Shishkin managed to convey a sense of pity for the poor cubs in the painting, but even in such a difficult moment, the little ones are playing, and the older ones still believe in the best.
The Russian artist Ivan Shishkin is famous for his unparalleled paintings depicting the magnificent Russian nature. One such masterpiece is Morning in a Pine Forest. In this landscape, the great master conveyed all his love and reverence for nature; the painting looks harmonious, with attention paid to even the smallest details. In the foreground, the artist depicts a fallen pine tree, on which three bear cubs are cautiously climbing. A she-bear watches them attentively, listening to the sounds of the forest. Morning in the forest is just beginning, everything is awakening and rejoicing in the first rays of sunlight. The bear cubs look completely harmless and defenseless, playfully frolicking and enjoying the start of a new day. The morning landscape is complemented by the soft light of sunbeams filtering through the branches; in the depths of the forest, one can see a damp mist that clearly conveys the coolness of the morning. The painting is executed in soft natural tones, and Shishkin skillfully combined color and light to convey the realism of the landscape. This painting is considered an example of an ideal landscape, where all the beauty of nature and human admiration for it are conveyed.
Harmony of nature in I. I. Shishkins painting A Morning in a Pine Forest
The brushstrokes of the great artist I. I. Shishkin created a masterpiece, A Morning in a Pine Forest. Why is this landscape known all over the world? It seems that the subject matter is simple. However, when you look at it, you feel as if you are transported to a painted world. You can smell the pine trees, feel the gentle breeze, and hear the rustling of leaves. You feel afraid to disturb the peace of the bear family. This masterpiece of world classics embodies the foundations of the world: the harmony of nature and family. The children are growing, playing, and discovering new things. The artist is trying to convey to us how beautiful Mother Nature is, but any disturbance will be met with a swift response. This is evident in the fallen trees, and even the she-bear, sensing danger at any moment, will show her claws.
The warm summer morning... The sun, not yet at its zenith, gently warms the awakening nature with its rays and dispels the night mist. The forest is waking up, and its inhabitants have been awake for a long time. A brown bear carefully watches her cubs playing in the ruins of a broken pine tree. This is the scene that unfolds before us in the painting by the great Russian landscape painter I. I. Shishkin, Morning in a Pine Forest, painted in 1889. Incredibly bright and clear, it seems to immerse us in an amazing forest atmosphere.
In the center of the painting is a real bear family. The cubs have chosen an old pine tree, broken long ago by bad weather, for their game. One of them, the most curious, stands on its hind legs and gazes into the distance. What does he see there? Perhaps he is watching the awakening of other forest inhabitants. His two brothers climbed onto the pine tree and began to examine it with interest. The mother bear watches her cubs closely and is ready to protect them from any danger at any moment.
What allowed the artist to create a true masterpiece, as if living its own life? One could argue about this for a very long time. Here, seemingly insignificant details come to the forefront. This includes the composition of the painting (the left side is not touched by sunlight, while on the right, light has already illuminated both the tops of the trees and the young grass), the combination of an old tree with young growth, and even the color palette of the painting. Only a true master, deeply in love with his native nature, can create a work that can be studied for years.
One of the main themes in Ivan Shishkins work is the Russian forest. The artist, as a true connoisseur of the beauty of his native nature, was able to convey its charm and beauty in his paintings. One of the best in this regard, rightfully considered, is the painting Morning in a Pine Forest.
The painting depicts the Russian forest in the smallest details, as it appears in the first rays of sunlight. Huge pine trees have closed their branches, as if protecting the inhabitants of the forest from unwanted guests, while one young tree has slightly tilted its lush crown, as if not wanting to wake up from such a pleasant sleep. One tree has fallen; its trunk is powerful and already quite dry, most likely due to its age. This tree is home to a close-knit family of bears. Mischievous bear cubs are joyfully frolicking on the fallen tree, while the she-bear calmly and majestically watches over them, making sure they dont get into too much trouble. It is at this moment that the sun rises above the forest. The artist has remarkably accurately conveyed the feeling of the forest space gradually filling with sunlight: in the background of the painting, everything is already illuminated and plays with new, bright colors, while the sunlight only creeps up to the family of bear cubs, preparing to warm them with its gentle rays. An absolutely harmonious combination of light and shadow, the silent stillness of the ancient forest, and the mischief of the little bear cubs – this is the awakening of Russian nature, worthy only of genuine admiration from people.
The artistic canvases of Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin fully demonstrate the beauty and uniqueness of the nature surrounding us. His most famous painting, Morning in a Pine Forest, evokes admiration.
How harmonious and beautiful everything is in nature! It is in the morning that a new day begins, and all living things awaken. After a nights rest, forest dwellers feel an intensified interest in the coming day, with a burst of energy emerging. In the background of the painting, we see dawn breaking through the thicket of trees. Rays of the morning sun gently fall on the forest clearing. The crowns and trunks of the trees are illuminated by a soft glow. The edge of the forest, with its soft moss, diverse vegetation, and a pine tree broken by a storm, has also attracted a she-bear. She brought her cubs here. What a wonderful expanse for these three mischievous little ones! They immediately climbed onto a fallen tree, starting a cheerful game. The mother bear is also happy, carefully watching her cubs. Her cubs are growing healthy, curious, and skillful. This is how it should be in nature.
The universe has many secrets, beauties, and treasures. It generously shares them with those who love it. The great landscape painter I. I. Shishkin uses his talent to show people this miracle – the harmony of nature, the unity of all living things. He reminds us of the vulnerability and fragility of the surrounding world. In the painting Morning in a Pine Forest, green predominates – the color of life. The artist skillfully uses all its shades. With love, the masters brush depicts the crowns and trunks of coniferous trees, moss, and dewy grass. One feels freshness, energy, and joy. A new day begins, bringing many interesting, bright, and kind things.
The canvases of Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin urge people to cherish pristine nature, not harm it, and provide whatever help they can. The life-affirming art of the artist does not allow people to remain indifferent.

The painting Morning in a Pine Forest established Shishkin as an outstanding landscape painter. With the artists delicate brushstrokes, we can still enjoy the pristine beauty of a secluded forest. The uniqueness of the painting lies in its realism. Through carefully selected dark shades for depicting the dense forest thicket, combined with the subtle golden hues of the morning sunlight, the presence of a silent observer is created. In the painting, we see impenetrable forest depths shrouded in a misty haze. The first rays of sunshine illuminate the tops of centuries-old pine trees. Here, we see a wilderness untouched by human footprints. In the center of the painting are the masters of the forest: a she-bear with her cubs at the edge of a ravine. The clumsy little ones play carefree on a fallen pine tree. Mighty trees shield the playful animals from prying eyes. The pose of the she-bear conveys tension and attentiveness to every rustle. She carefully watches over her offspring. One cub is depicted slightly further away, thus these adorable animals fill the center of the painting, being its main element. Gazing into the forest thicket, one feels as if entering a mysterious, enigmatic forest, inhaling the unique scent of pine. This is where the artists skill lies! The painting is rendered in cool tones. Thanks to this, the artist conveyed all the charm of the morning forest with its piercingly cold air, a scattering of golden sunbeams, and slender trees.
Morning in a Pine Forest is a well-known painting by Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin, created in collaboration with Konstantin Apollonovich Savitsky, who added the bears to the scene (Shishkin is an excellent landscape painter, and animals are not his forte). Its a very picturesque and bright painting that captivates with its realism and details. If you look at it for a long time, theres a magic in the skill of these great artists. In our country, it also gained wide recognition thanks to the Bear Cub candy, which features the painting on its wrapper. Some people believe the painting is called Three Bears or Morning in a Pine Grove, but thats not correct – its true title is Morning in a Pine Forest. The art collector Tretyakov, when displaying this painting in his gallery, removed the second signature of K. A. Savitsky from the artwork, believing that I. I. Shishkin made a greater contribution to its creation.
I think like this: It was morning. The sun was just barely rising over the horizon. I heard something fall. It was a tree. It had dried out and started to break apart, so the top part fell to the ground. Two bear cubs and their parents came running at the sound. The bear cubs started playing with the dry tree, while the mother sat under the fallen branch and watched. The father climbed up and also began watching the cubs. And thats how they spent their morning playing in the pine forest.

Morning in a Pine Forest, a painting by I. I. Shishkin, is known not only to residents of the former post-Soviet space but has also become a symbol of modern Russia. The painting depicts a dense forest at dawn, with a she-bear and three young bears playing among fallen trees. The painting is over a hundred years old. It was painted by Ivan Shishkin and Konstantin Savitsky in the late 19th century. Savitsky painted the bears, but the collector who bought the painting erased his name from it. In the painting, there are pine trees through which rays of sunlight break through. Everything is very realistic, and it is believed that before painting the picture, Shishkin personally saw this scene during his travels. This painting is in the same style as most of I. I. Shishkins other works. He managed to convey the depth of the landscape on the canvas; forests, edges, and ravines were the subjects of his paintings. You can look at this painting for a long time, and it will evoke positive emotions. It shows the abundance of nature, the forest in all its beauty, and the young bears and morning symbolize the beginning of something new and future. One of the young bears turned towards the rays of sunlight that peeked out from behind the trees. Nearby is the she-bear, who, with her imposing appearance and open mouth, protects her cubs from danger.
The painting has been reproduced many times and is on display in many museums around the world, allowing visitors to learn about I. I. Shishkins work. During the Soviet era, candies called Three Bears were sold, featuring a reproduction of this painting on their wrappers. Because of this, many people call this painting Three Bears rather than Morning in a Pine Forest. This painting is studied in schools, and children try to recreate it during art lessons, as well as students at art schools. The painting Morning in a Pine Forest has become a classic of 19th-20th century Russian painting. It is the only painting by I. Shishkin that was created jointly with another author. Although there are many debates now about whether Shishkin or Savitsky painted the bears in the painting, it is known that Shishkin painted landscapes wonderfully, but he was not very good at drawing animals. And on the painting itself, you can clearly see traces of the second surname of the author being erased. Other researchers say that Shishkin was interested in drawing the animal world, so sheep and birds in his other paintings were depicted very realistically. Shishkin painted this picture towards the end of his career, when he had already received many awards for his art, and by that time he could have mastered the technique of drawing animals. Currently, the painting is on display in one of the halls of the Tretyakov Gallery. Everyone can appreciate the beauty of the landscape in the painting and reflect on its philosophical meaning.
Хочется в сосновый лес, увидеть это удивительно весёлое утро на яву, спасибо великим гениям!!!

Очень красивая и приятная на вид картина.
The amazing world around us is the world of nature. Artists help us see its beauty.
When you look at paintings by the artist Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin, you want to enter a pine forest, breathe in the scent of needles, and feel the soft, damp moss with your bare feet.
Shishkin has one painting that everyone knows, both young and old. Early in the morning, three bear cubs are frolicking in the depths of the forest. Nearby is their mother, a female bear.
Shishkin never painted animals, so he was helped by another artist, Savitsky, his friend, to depict the bears. The playful bear cubs turned out to be very charming.
However, the main thing in the painting isnt these cute creatures, but rather the dense forest itself. It is a remote and secluded place far from human dwellings. Probably no one comes here, disturbing the tranquility of the woodland kingdom. Its spacious and comfortable for both animals and birds! Life goes on according to its own laws within the forest. Only storms and time cause old trees to die. And in their place, new saplings grow.
This untouched beauty of the forest is what the artist has depicted for us through his brush and paints.
Why do people think that two bears are sitting on the wreckage of a tree, and a third one also wants to climb up? In reality, the third bear is their mother, and those two are her cubs.
Прикрассная картина.
У меня есть она шикарная картина
Но не знаю оригинал или нет я думаю что оригинал по этому шикарно смотрится
Картина очень красивая. Мне понравилась, особенно моему младшему братику!!!
Composition about the painting A Morning in a Pine Forest by Shishkin.
Composition based on the painting Morning in a Pine Forest by I. I. Shishkin.
I. I. Shishkin is one of the most outstanding Russian landscape painters of the 19th century. He transferred his immeasurable love for nature to his canvases, singing the beauty and grandeur of the vast Russian fields and forests in each painting, admiring not only mighty oak groves but also the variety of ordinary field flowers.
A Morning in a Pine Forest is one of the most famous works of the remarkable artist. The sun is not yet high; it gilds the tops of huge old trees, promising a warm and clear day. Despite the early morning, the forest inhabitants have long since woken up. Before us is a family of the largest inhabitants of the thicket – a she-bear and three cubs.
It can be seen that they have already had time to eat and are now playing cheerfully and carefree. The mother bear carefully watches her little ones play, listening attentively to the sounds of the awakening nature. An unusual place was chosen for rest by the brown forest owners. An old, powerful pine tree has been uprooted by a storm. Falling, the tree hit a dark, time-worn stump and broke in half. Now the top lies on the ground, while the trunk with its sprawling, weathered roots still looks at the green tops of its neighboring pines swaying in the sky.
Looking at the painting, we seem to be immersed in the atmosphere of a forest morning, hearing the voices of birds and the roar of bear cubs, inhaling the aroma of pine bark and needles. And all this is thanks to the magical brush and immense talent of the amazing artist I. I. Shishkin.

Plan for the composition.
Introduction
I. I. Shishkin and the forest
A Morning in a Pine Forest
Depiction of a dense forest and its inhabitants
Great love for nature
History of the creation of the painting
Conclusion
A true work of art.
I. I. Shishkin was called the forest hero, the king of the forest. He can truly be called a servant of the cult of trees. The artist saw in the forest an infinite variety of forms, the embodiment of natures immortality, and an expression of feeling for his homeland.
The painting A Morning in a Pine Forest by I. I. Shishkin made a huge impression on me. I see before me a dense pine forest. Century-old pines reach their tops into the sky. It is dark and cool in the thicket. Early in the morning, a huge she-bear led three bear cubs to the forest clearing. The little ones climbed onto a fallen tree blown down by a storm and are frolicking cheerfully. The mother stands on guard. At the slightest danger, she will give a signal, and the family will hide in the thicket. The painting is dynamic; the animals depicted on it seem to be moving, and the wind stirs the needles of the trees. The painting was created by the hand of a talented painter and speaks of his great love for nature, which was his muse. By showing its diversity and uniqueness, Shishkin himself created a miracle that is embodied in his canvases and evokes a feeling of tenderness. This painting is a rare example of collaboration between two artists. Under the signature of Shishkin at the bottom, there is a darkened area where the signature of K. Savitsky has been erased; it was he who painted the bears on this canvas.
A Morning in a Pine Forest is one of the most famous Russian paintings created in the 19th century. As a true work of art, it attracts peoples attention and does not leave them indifferent.
Composition based on the painting Morning in a Pine Forest by I. I. Shishkin.
In the painting Morning in a Pine Forest by Ivan Shishkin, I see four bears: a mother bear and three cubs. They are frolicking cheerfully in a pine forest under the watchful eye of their mother. Two cubs have climbed onto a fallen tree and are looking down at their mother from above, while the third cub is gazing thoughtfully into the misty distance of the forest. It can be seen that the forest is old; the tops of the tall pines reach towards the azure-blue sky. There are many felled trees, decaying trunks that seem ready to break, but they stand firm. The forest is gloomy, but rays of sunlight penetrate through the pine trees. The painting is painted in dark shades. Green tones dominate. I liked this painting because it is very realistic, as if I am present there myself.
Composition based on the painting Morning in a Pine Forest by I. I. Shishkin.
Perhaps the most famous painting by the outstanding Russian landscape painter I. I. Shishkin is A Morning in a Pine Forest. The painting was created in 1889.
It is believed that the idea for the painting was suggested to Shishkin by the well-known artist Savitsky K. A. It was actually this artist who painted the she-bear and the playing cubs. However, Tretyakov, who bought the canvas, decided to attribute the authorship solely to Shishkin, as he believed that the main work was done by him.
Perhaps it was the interesting сюжет of the painting that contributed to its popularity, but the true value of the painting lies in how accurately it conveys the state of nature. Before us is not just a pine forest, but a dense thicket that is beginning to wake up early in the morning. The sun has only just risen. Its bold rays have already gilded the tops of the huge trees and penetrated deep into the thicket, but the misty haze has not yet dissipated over the deep ravine.
The inhabitants of the thicket have woken up – three cubs and a she-bear. It seems that the little ones are full and satisfied. They frolic cheerfully and clumsily on a broken trunk of a fallen pine tree, while the mother bear carefully watches their game, attentively reacting to the sounds of the waking forest. The mighty pine tree, which was once uprooted by a storm, and the family of bears playing on it create a feeling of remoteness and isolation of this corner of the wild nature.
The painting A Morning in a Pine Forest shows how skillfully Shishkin solves the problem of interaction between color and light in painting. The color palette of the background is transparent and indefinite, while the foreground is deep, colorful, and well-developed. In the painting, which is rightfully considered by many generations as an example of landscape art, the admiration for the beauty and richness of pristine nature is fully conveyed.
Pine forest. A dense thicket. A ray of sunlight breaks through the fluffy leaves of the trees and pine needles. On the edge of the forest, a she-bear is playing with her mischievous cubs. The brown-and-tan creatures are climbing on a pine tree broken by a storm, while an older cub has decided to admire the sunrise. This playful family has chosen an excellent spot for relaxation. Here, no one will disturb their peace, and no one will bother them. All around is a dense forest and silence. Its so wonderful to watch these furry little bundles – the bear cubs. Soon, nature began to awaken, and birds started singing. The sky turns pink. Now, the plump cubs are having more fun. I am filled with feelings of joy, energy, and good cheer from watching this scene.
Several essays.
Early morning in a pine forest. Gentle, small rays of sunlight break through the dense thicket. Tall pines stand like masts, guarding this part of the forest inaccessible to humans. Fallen needles form a thick carpet on the ground. Bright sunshine illuminates this clearing. Playful squirrels jump between the dense branches. A mother bear walks across the spacious clearing. And two cute cubs play on a broken pine tree. They climb it quickly and look around. Meanwhile, the third cub stands on its hind legs and watches the sunrise intently. This furry family has settled in such a remote place for a reason. The father is out hunting, while the mother raises three mischievous cubs. Looking at this scene, I am filled with feelings of joy and tranquility!
A quiet morning arrived in the pine forest. Golden rays of gentle sunlight illuminated the dense, impenetrable forest. This place seems mysterious and enigmatic. A furry mother bear led her curious, chubby cubs on an interesting morning walk. The cubs saw a heavy, centuries-old pine tree broken by the wind, and climbed it. They played and frolicked on it. Meanwhile, the mother bear watched them intently. Looking at this scene, I am filled with simple yet extraordinary feelings of joy, mystery, and lightness.
This painting inspires admiration in anyone! If you look at the painting Morning in a Pine Forest by Ivan Shishkin, you cannot doubt the genius of this artist for even a second. His painting depicts a wonderful landscape. This dense, dark, impenetrable forest is brought to life by a broken pine tree (broken either by a storm, strong wind, or old age). You can admire this blue patch of sunlight for hours, as golden rays shine through the incredibly thick branches of the trees. But without those cute, chubby, playful cubs, the painting would not be so morning-like, beautiful, and joyful. It seems that these two cubs on the pine tree have grown a bit; they are about 5-6 months old, while the little one, who is only a month or two old, is very fascinated by the early sunrise. The brown bear cubs are, in my opinion, the most interesting part of this painting. This painting is wonderful! It takes your breath away!
Morning. Early rays of sunlight break through the silence and fill the forest with gentle light. Birds have started to sing, but there are no predators in sight. Thats why the mother bear chose this place for her furry cubs. The cubs are frolicking on a pine tree broken by a storm, while the third cub notices and watches the beautiful sunrise. Day is dawning in the pine forest, and now the cubs are playing together, under the watchful eye of the mother bear. This painting reminds me of my cottage in the pine forest!
Morning has arrived. Its quiet all around. Golden, strong, majestic pines rise high, making it difficult to see their tops. The sky is covered with gentle, fluffy clouds like cotton. You just want to jump into them! Through the dense branches of the pines, golden, bright sunlight persistently shines through. A pine tree broken by a storm or old age lies on the ground, and this place attracted the mother bear and her cubs. Two cubs want to play; they skillfully climbed onto the wind-uprooted pine tree, while the mother bear watches their game intently. But the third cub isnt drawn to his brothers; standing on its hind legs, it enjoys the morning sun. I still look at this painting by Ivan Shishkin, at this mysterious, fairytale forest, at this blue, morning sky, at those fluffy, cute, playful, clumsy cubs, at the tall pines and their branches woven into a green canopy, and I am filled with emotions! I really like this painting!

This is the most famous painting by the renowned Russian artist I. I. Shishkin. However, it was created in collaboration with another artist, K. A. Savitskiy, who suggested the idea for the composition. He also depicted the bear cubs – sketches and drawings of which have been preserved – and informed his family about their collaboration. However, after acquiring the painting, Tretyakov erased the second signature beneath the canvas, leaving only Shishkins. He explained his decision by stating that both the concept and execution of the work reflected a style of painting characteristic of Shishkin alone.
The idea for the painting originated during a joint walk in a wonderful pine forest bathed in sunlight, while the landscape itself was found in pristine forests near Lake Seliger. With great reverence for his native nature, Shishkin always chose landscapes from its untouched corners. In this canvas, the artist expressed his love for life and nature.
The painting depicts a dense pine forest, through which the first rays of morning sunlight filter. The artist captured the moment of awakening in the forest and, at the same time, emphasized the vastness of nature by cutting off the tops of the pines in the composition. The onset of morning is indicated by a misty haze that has not yet been completely dispelled by the sunlight.
In the center of the composition are trees uprooted from the ground, around which sleepy bear cubs frolic playfully. One of them tilts its head to the side, listening to the sounds of the forest, while two others engage in playful antics on a fallen tree. It should be noted that in the preliminary sketches, there were only two animals. Later, Shishkin decided to add two more bear cubs. Thanks to this decision, the painting became more dynamic, and elements of a game situation appeared. The bear cubs rejoice at the onset of a new day. They look harmless and kind, despite being wild animals.
Using large trees uprooted from the ground, the artist indicates that this forest is so dense that only wild animals can live there, and the trees here fall either from old age or from hurricane winds, as perhaps was the case this time. The painting is very realistic. It seems that the artist glimpsed a secret of the forest depths, but at the same time did not disturb the inhabitants of the forest.
The paintings of I. I. Shishkin are distinguished by their truthful depiction and soft beauty. Loving and admiring nature, the artist studied many plants, depicting all the smallest details of roots, grasses, fir and pine branches. Shishkins talent was recognized during his lifetime. Many of his paintings adorned the Tretyakov Gallery, while some landscapes can be seen in the Russian Museum and other private or public collections.
Thanks to his painting style, his landscapes can be distinguished from the works of other artists. Ivan Ivanovich paid great attention to the smallest details when depicting the native nature, which became the basis of his landscapes. But the most famous and widely reproduced, especially during the Soviet era, was the painting Morning in a Pine Forest. There is also an earlier version of the work called Mist in a Pine Forest, which is located in Poland, in a private collection.

The painting depicts a dense, ancient pine forest bathed in the soft, hazy light of early morning. Sunlight streams through the upper branches, creating shafts of light that illuminate the mist hanging in the air and highlight the textured bark of the trees. The forest floor is covered in a thick carpet of moss, fallen leaves, and the gnarled roots of fallen trees, suggesting a wild and untamed wilderness.
The central focus of the scene is a family of bears, with a mother bear seated on the ground and four playful cubs scattered around. One cub stands on its hind legs on a fallen log, looking up with curiosity. Another is perched on a broken tree trunk, its head tilted as if listening. Two other cubs are nestled near the mother, one appearing to be nursing or resting, and another climbing on the fallen trunk. Their dark fur contrasts with the lighter tones of the forest, making them stand out as the lively inhabitants of this serene natural setting.
The subtexts of the painting are rich and evocative. Primarily, it celebrates the beauty and grandeur of untamed nature, particularly the Russian wilderness. The early morning light symbolizes new beginnings, innocence, and the awakening of life. The presence of the bear family evokes themes of:
The painting is often seen as an allegory for Russia itself – its vast, wild beauty, its strength, and its enduring spirit. It invites the viewer to contemplate the simple wonders of the natural world and the protective bonds of family.
