Flanking the central panel are two additional scenes populated by figures in ecclesiastical attire. On the left, three men stand in profile, their expressions serious and contemplative. Their garments suggest positions of authority within a religious order – one figure is clearly identifiable as a bishop due to his mitre. The arrangement suggests a group witnessing or participating in the event depicted centrally. Similarly, on the right panel, two figures are presented in a comparable pose, again clad in clerical robes. One holds what appears to be a book or manuscript, hinting at scholarship and religious study.
The architectural elements within the central panel – the checkerboard floor, the decorative frieze, and the columns – create a sense of order and formality.
