The foreground is dominated by an array of individuals exhibiting a range of emotional responses. Some reach out towards the illuminated space with gestures of reverence or supplication; others display expressions of awe, curiosity, or even apprehension. The artist has rendered these faces with considerable detail, capturing subtle nuances of age and character.
