Julius Klever’s painting is delightfully realistic. It seems that what you are looking at is not an oil painting, but a live photograph. The author has depicted the thicket of the forest, where clearly a man’s foot rarely sets foot. The thicket seems completely impenetrable, and the water seems to pull you into the depths. Above the ground you can see a light haze, like the evaporation of a body of water.
Description of Julius Clover’s painting "Autumn in the Woods"
Julius Klever’s painting is delightfully realistic. It seems that what you are looking at is not an oil painting, but a live photograph. The author has depicted the thicket of the forest, where clearly a man’s foot rarely sets foot. The thicket seems completely impenetrable, and the water seems to pull you into the depths.
Above the ground you can see a light haze, like the evaporation of a body of water. The sky is only slightly visible, and it’s hard to see the far background. It is blurred because of the unclear weather. We can see dry trees with their stubby branches penetrating the haze of mist.
In the foreground there is a small forest swamp. It doesn’t seem deep, but such places always look deceptive. Fallen leaves of red color are neatly placed on the smooth surface. The birches have already completely shed their attire, and the roots are covered with yellow-green perennial moss. The birch trees are reflected in the water. Moisture stands in this area regularly, which makes the roots of the trees come out.
Autumn is a favorite time of year for many artists. They love to play with bright colors and in doing so show their attitude to autumn. Clover U. skillfully plays with the hues of the forest, which stands peacefully and tolerates the disturbance of its tranquility.
We see that the forest is mixed, it is typical for the middle belt of Russia. The landscape shows white birches of various ages and mighty pine trees. The forest is very dense and there are small bushes around the tall trees.
Autumn is very good, it seems one can enter this landscape and breathe in the fragrance of the beautiful forest. But on the other side of the canvas reeks of danger, as you realize that not every traveler has found his way back home.
The deceptive swamps and dark thickets that can be seen around the edges of the painting evoke a kind of fear. The rays of sunlight only slightly break through the thick foliage of the old trees. The artist has undoubtedly succeeded in conveying the characteristic features of the Russian forest.
