"Медуза" – название корабля, это слово следует взять в кавычки. Вообще же, сколько ни читал описаний картины, больше всего всех привлекает негр с красным флагом.

The subtext of the painting is multifaceted. It serves as a powerful commentary on the fragility of human life in the face of natural forces and the consequences of human error and negligence. The shipwreck of the Medusa implicated the incompetence and corruption of the French aristocracy, as the captain was appointed for political reasons rather than merit. Therefore, the painting can be interpreted as a critique of the political and social injustices of the time, highlighting the suffering of common people due to the failures of their leaders. Furthermore, it is a profound exploration of the human condition, delving into themes of survival, despair, hope, and the resilience of the human spirit when confronted with extreme adversity. The stark contrast between the dying and the hopeful, as well as the desperate struggle against overwhelming odds, makes it a timeless allegory for the human fight for survival.
