Surrounding her are several figures engaged in what appears to be ritualistic preparation. Two attendants, one male and one female, stand close by, their faces a mixture of apprehension and dutiful obedience. The male figure, identifiable by his elaborate headwear and beard, holds aloft a golden vessel, seemingly about to pour its contents onto the woman’s body. The female attendant, her face partially obscured, reaches out with a gesture that could be interpreted as either assistance or restraint.
Above them, suspended in a swirling vortex of clouds, are several cherubic figures. One angel descends from the heavens, carrying what appears to be a caduceus – a staff entwined with serpents, a symbol often associated with healing and divine power. Another cherub playfully pulls back a heavy curtain, revealing more of the scene’s interior. The presence of these celestial beings suggests an imminent supernatural intervention.
