The garden is colorful, like an iconostasis,
Autumn melodies sound,
That do not deprive anyone among us sinners of hope.
And above the iconostasis, there is a cross.
Given as a heavenly layer.
No matter how much you distrust the abyss,
Its so impossible to deny this.
The garden is colorful, its layers,
Its exceptional nuances.
And looking into that space,
You will clarify your thoughts.
You cannot comment Why?
The color palette is predominantly earthy – browns, ochres, and muted greens – with touches of gold highlighting the decorative elements. Light appears to emanate from an unseen source, casting a warm glow on the wooden surfaces and creating a sense of atmospheric perspective. The application of paint is loose and expressive; brushstrokes are visible throughout, contributing to a textured surface that conveys a feeling of immediacy and perhaps even a degree of visual instability.
The spatial arrangement suggests a deliberate attempt to convey not just the physical appearance of the interior but also its spiritual atmosphere. The density of detail – the profusion of icons, carvings, and architectural elements – creates a sense of enclosure and reverence. However, the somewhat blurred quality of the forms and the lack of clear focal points prevent the viewer from settling into a comfortable or easily interpretable scene.
There is an underlying tension between the traditional iconography of the space and the artist’s modern approach to representation. The subject matter – a sacred interior – is rendered with techniques that prioritize subjective experience over objective accuracy, hinting at a questioning of established norms and a search for new ways to depict spiritual reality. The overall effect is one of contemplative ambiguity; the viewer is invited not simply to observe but to engage in an emotional and intellectual response to the scene.
