Один из бесспорных шедевров Тициана.

Behind her, the scene shifts to an interior setting. To the left, dark drapery creates a sense of depth. To the right, a window looks out onto a twilight sky and a small potted plant. In the middle ground, two maids are visible; one is kneeling before a chest, and the other stands, dressed in a red gown, reaching towards something. On the floor in the foreground, to the right of the reclining womans legs, a small dog sleeps.
The subtexts of the painting are rich and open to interpretation. The reclining nude is often seen as an allegory for human sexuality and love, but also as a symbol of marital fidelity, given the presence of the dog, a traditional symbol of loyalty. The womans direct gaze and relaxed pose invite the viewer into her private space, blurring the lines between voyeurism and intimacy. The domestic setting, with the maids preparing clothes, suggests preparedness and the everyday reality that surrounds even an idealized depiction of beauty and sensuality. The inclusion of the roses could symbolize love and beauty, while the twilight outside might hint at the passage of time or the transition from day to night, from the public to the private sphere. The painting has also been interpreted as a representation of marital consent and the potential for fertility, given the womans slightly rounded abdomen.
