Flanking this central figure are two other individuals. To her right stands a male figure in armor, his arm extended towards a woman who is positioned slightly forward. He holds aloft a laurel wreath, an emblem of victory or honor, which he offers to the second female figure. This gesture suggests a bestowal of recognition or reward. The armored man’s presence implies a military or political context, potentially representing power and dominion.
Below the throne, a chaotic scene unfolds. Several male figures are depicted in various states of distress – some appear bound, others prostrate on the ground. Their expressions range from anguish to resignation. Scattered around them are discarded weapons: helmets, swords, shields, and other implements of war. This lower register introduces an element of conflict and suffering, contrasting sharply with the serenity above.
In the upper left corner, a group of putti – cherubic figures – are visible, seemingly observing the proceedings from a higher vantage point. One holds a bird similar to the dove held by the central figure, reinforcing themes of innocence or divine observation.
