В живую в Феодосии она выглядит просто шикарно, если учесть что она еще и на всю стену размером. Люблю море.
Она еще и под наклоном к зрителю висит, ощущение такое, что вся эта водная масса вот-вот на тебя обрушится
I saw this painting in Feodosia about 40 years ago. The impression has stayed with me for a lifetime. When you enter the room where the painting is displayed, you feel like youre getting splashed by the waves. Its an incredible feeling.
Its interesting that the artist himself didnt like this painting and wouldnt allow it to be taken out of Feodosia.
And I think its one of the best works by the artist.

Fyodor doesnt possess real information. For the artist, it was a cherished creation, something I had been striving for my entire life. I couldnt bear to part with it due to my deep love and affection (it was created in the 81st year of his life – soon after, the artist would pass away, not living two months before turning 83).

This is by Aivazovsky. I saw this painting in Feodosia. Its grand and majestic. Absolutely stunning! But the color reproduction in this photo is simply terrible! It doesnt allow you to get a sense of what the original artwork looks like.

I also saw that painting 40 years ago. Just sea foam during a storm, and nothing more. Its huge! And it illuminates the entire room. Inside, it has neon lighting.
