Solo exhibition of Matvey Weisberg at the Kiev National Art Museum

From September 13 to September 30, Kievans have the opportunity to appreciate the work of modern Ukrainian artist Matvey Vaysberg. The Wall exhibition consists of fifty paintings, created by the author for the past code based on biblical subjects. The paintings “The Wailing Wall”, “The Crucifixion”, as well as the series of works “Scenes from the Tanakh,” impress with their imagery and emotional fullness.

Behind the artist’s 15 personal exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, as well as numerous illustrations of the masterpieces of world literature - “Demons” F.M. Dostoevsky, archetypal images of K.G. Jung, scenes from the works of Sholom Aleichem and philosophical thoughts of Kierkegaard, etc.

The theme of the exhibition was the breakdown in the worldview of an entire civilization, the transition from polytheism to monotheism. During his stay in Israel, the artist was struck by the grandeur of the desert and decided to create a cycle of works dedicated to the formation of Christianity.
