Exhibition of Italian graphic artists from the Pushkin Museum. Pushkin

In Moscow, in the Pushkin Museum to them. Pushkin began to receive visitors to the exhibition, which presented 250 works by Italian artists who created their works from the sixteenth century to the present. The time during which this collection was created is reminiscent of the name of the exhibition - “Five Centuries of Italian Design”.

The exhibition takes place as part of the music festival dedicated to Svyatoslav Richter, but the reason for it was another important event - three new volumes of the catalog were born, which included the works of Italian masters of painting, which are in the museum’s collection of paintings. In total, the museum funds contain more than three thousand graphic works of masters from Italy, created at different times.

For the exhibition, the best works of Italian artists were selected, according to which one can trace how the mastery of Italian drawing developed. Although there are difficulties with the storage of drawings written on paper, but thanks to the work of the restorers of the museum, even the drawings of the 16th century presented at the exhibition were preserved in good condition.

At that time, artists from every corner of Italy worked in their own unique technique. His style of drawing was represented by the north of the country where Francesco Parmigianino worked. Artists of Venice always differed in their own style - sophisticated, which allows them to feel even the movement of air in the drawings.

At the exhibition, visitors can see the work of the representative of the artists of Venice, Vittore Carpaccio, written more than five hundred years ago. This is a portrait with the name "Philosopher in the Studio", which is one of the most valuable works that make up the museum’s collection.

The place of honor at the exhibition is given to the manuscript of Leonardo da Vinci brought from Turin.

The exhibition is open until January 27th.
