Belgorod Museum celebrated its thirtieth anniversary with an exhibition of new arrivals

BELGOROD. By its thirtieth anniversary, the City Art Museum opened an exhibition, which became a kind of report on the work of the museum. At the exhibition, the opening of which took place on July 26, its organizers presented the most interesting works of art received in the museum over the past six years.

Over the years, the museum’s collection has increased by 722 works, of which 353 copies were gifts and the rest were acquired or received from other museum funds. To date, the number of storage units of the Belgorod Art Museum is 4310 copies.

A large number of gifts were made for the opening of the new museum building, which took place in 2007. Employees are actively working to expand the funds. A systematic rally “Gifts and Givers” has already become a tradition, thanks to which the museum collection is replenished not only with gifts from painters, ordinary residents of the city also participate in it.

The exhibition includes more than 150 works of various genres. The organizers of the exhibition set as their goal to show the audience the work, previously inaccessible to the general public, reflecting the variety of copyrighted works stored in museum collections. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to get acquainted with portraits, landscapes, historical paintings, still lifes and sculptures by more than a hundred authors.

Now the museum employees are working on creating a new permanent exhibition dedicated to the twentieth century. It will open in December this year, so some new arrivals to the museum fund are not presented at this exhibition. They will appear in the museum hall only in a permanent exhibition.

The exhibition dedicated to the anniversary is open until September 1st.
