Exhibition of paintings by Elena Gontarenko "Happy Day" in the Ryazan gallery

KNITTING. Ryazan art salon "Palette on September 12 presented the public an exhibition of paintings" Happy Day ". The author of the work is the well-known art lovers Ryazan artist Elena Gontarenko. This solo exhibition of the artist reveals another side of her talent.

If earlier her work was known for her wonderful tapestries, with which she was a frequent participant in exhibitions in Ryazan and other cities of the country, now the artist began to create paintings. For several years, Elena Gontarenko began to include paintings in the exposition of her exhibitions, representing woven works.

Elena calls the change of life rhythm the reason for turning to the new genre. Children have grown up and now do not require so much attention, which means that more time has appeared. From work on the tapestry, the creation of which takes about six months, you can break away for a while for household chores, and then continue its production.

It’s impossible to work with paintings like this, they need to devote considerable time - several hours in a row. Now Elena Eduardovna has already gathered a significant collection of paintings.

At the exhibition “Happy Day, you can see about fifteen paintings. Some of them are already familiar to the public, who visited the gallery of Viktor Ivanov in the spring, where animalistic still lifes and portraits by the artist were presented. Several paintings were completed recently.

Some of the fabrics are unique, they are written on the usual material used for sewing. The artist spoke about the complexity of using such a technique, since corrections on such material cannot be made. In her works, Elena Gontarenko prefers decorativeness, and bright colors have already become her trademark.
