In the regional art museum of Ulyanovsk, an anniversary exhibition of the artist Evgeny Shibanov

Ulyanovsk. The Regional Art Museum congratulated the painter Yevgeny Nikolaevich Shibanov on the anniversary of the opening of the artist’s personal exhibition in the exhibition hall. The opening ceremony, held on February 11, gathered a large number of people wishing to congratulate Evgeny Nikolaevich on his 75th birthday.

The first anniversary gift was a small concert from the regional philharmonic, performed by a string quartet. The head of the quartet is Alexander Vinogradov. A series of congratulations at the opening ceremony was started by Sergei Zhdanov, director of the art museum.

He spoke about the fame of the work of Evgeny Shibanov outside Ulyanovsk. Only during the last five years, personal exhibitions of the painter were held in the halls of cities such as Kazan, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow. The Ulyanovsk Art Museum is pleased to welcome Yevgeny Shibanov’s work in his exhibition hall.

The congratulatory words of Tatyana Ivshina, the Minister of Culture of the Ulyanovsk Region, spoke about the increased craving for beauty among people, which is evident from the number of people present at the opening of the long-awaited exhibition of remarkable work of the hero of the anniversary. Art critic Tatyana Stadler congratulated Yevgeny Shibanov’s work as an original synthesis of academic art with folk culture.

Visitors to the exhibition, which shows forty works by the artist, can see for themselves the truth of these words. The artist’s unique painting style, developed over many years devoted to creativity, allows Evgeny Shibanov to create equally unique works. The artist devoted most of them to the theme of the village and its inhabitants.

The exhibition, open until February 29, included his best works.
