In the Novosibirsk Art Museum opened an exhibition - "PAX in Novosibirsk"

NOVOSIBIRSK. On April 5, the opening ceremony of the exhibition "PAX in Novosibirsk" took place in the city art museum. This unique art project was created at the initiative of the Russian Academy of Arts. With its help, art lovers of Russian cities will be able to get acquainted with the work of leading artists of the country.

The exhibition is composed of two sections, the first of which is formed by the Academy of Arts. It is presented to the public under the name “Timely Art”, including more than 130 works of art made in various techniques in the exposition. 37 artists, whose names do not need an introduction, selected Zurab Tsereteli, Leonid Baranov, Dmitry Zhilinsky, Natalya Nesterova and other equally famous painters, graphic artists and sculptors to take part in Timely Art.

The basis of this part of the exposition is the work of Leonid Baranov, a famous sculptor. “Timely Art” is a dedication to its 70th anniversary. The sculptures of the master are complemented by artworks created by his friends and contemporaries.

Pyotr Baranov, curator of the exhibition, says that the works collected at the exposition represent a gigantic layer of creativity of Russian artists living in central Russia. This exposition has been traveling around the country for about three years.

The preparation of the second section was attended by the Union of Artists of the Novosibirsk region. This part of the exhibition contains works by leading artists of Western Siberia. The creativity of many of them was appreciated by honorary awards - Gold medals from the Academy of Arts. The opened exposition is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the creation of the regional branch of the Russian Academy of Arts. This large-scale exhibition has occupied museum halls for a long time - guests are expected in the art museum until July 31.
