“An invisible cage is put on us all” - the exhibition of the artist Larisa Berlin is open at the Akhmatova Museum

ST. PETERSBURG. In the gallery "Saray", which is part of the Anna Akhmatova Museum, an exhibition of graphics was opened on July 12, authored by Larisa Lvovna Berlin. Art historians speak of her work as a mixture of the traditions of modern pictorial painting with naive art.

The artist has been professionally engaged in theatrical and decorative art for many years, which influenced the style of her work and worldview. The ability to subtly feel the "theatricality" of the nature of the world around her gave the artist the ability to show reality in the form of a stage action.

Working in the theater, Larisa Berlin was engaged in the creation of dolls, which required the ability to embody various characters in the form. Recently, the artist successfully combines the work of a teacher with a lesson in painting and graphics. Larisa Berlin devotes a lot of time to arts and crafts.

In his works, Larisa Berlin uses a rich palette of paintings to successfully give birth to a world filled with characters from fairy tales and myths. Angels and mermaids, cunning red cats and blue roes settled on her drawings. There are people on them, but their images are also somewhat allegorical. Behind the apparent naivety of the work are the artist’s thoughts about serious things.

For the most part, Larisa Lvovna does her work with ink and pencil, but for many works she uses mixed media. The fabulousness inherent in the artist’s creativity fills him with a unique flavor of joy, and gives the audience a sense of joy. During her creative life, the artist participated in 65 exhibitions, held 18 personal exhibitions. Her works are kept in collections of museums, Russian and foreign.

The exhibition, presented at the Akhmatova Museum, is available until July 24.
