In the Oryol Museum presented the exhibition "City and People", dedicated to the 450th anniversary of the formation of the Eagle

EAGLE. In August of this year, the inhabitants of Orel will celebrate the anniversary of the city - the 450th anniversary of its formation. Many cultural institutions prepare various events in advance for this date. Employees of the Oryol Museum of Fine Arts have already begun to celebrate the anniversary of the city, having prepared the exhibition “City and People”. Its exposition was solemnly opened on July 15.

All works included in the exhibition belong to the museum collection. Having dedicated the exhibition to the anniversary of Oryol, the museum staff set a goal - to provide an opportunity for museum guests to get acquainted with the detailed pictorial chronicle created by Oryol artists during the 20th century.

Tatyana Mazurkevich, an employee of the museum, noted the uniqueness of the opening exhibition. It included about 100 works of art. Among them are portraits and landscapes, graphics and sculptures. The exhibition is attended by the work of 38 artists who lived and worked in Orel. Many of these works have not been exhibited for a long time.

Initially, the museum staff planned to show only landscapes at the exhibition, but then decided that it was impossible not to show portraits of people whose names were once the pride of the city, glorified it with good deeds. For the first time, residents of Orel will see in the museum "Portrait of the Artist Frolov," written by the artist Kostyannikov.

Visitors to the museum who managed to attend the exhibition unanimously claim that the impression of it is excellent. The works displayed in the exhibition evoke nostalgic feelings, giving you the opportunity to plunge into the past of your native city. It is a pity that many of the artists who created them have already passed away. Some of them can be seen on self-portraits, which occupy a special place in the exposition.

Acquaintance with the history of the Eagle in the works of artists is available until August 14.
