The award "The Best Young Reader of Russia" was received by a schoolgirl from Komi

SYKTIVKAR. On Saturday, December 27, at the S. Marshak National Children’s Library of the Komi Republic, the results of the contest "The Best Young Reader of Russia" were summed up. Ulyana Ivakina, a ninth-grade student of the Palevitsky secondary school, received a memorable gift from the Russian Children’s Fund and a certificate of honor. On behalf of the Head of the region Vyacheslav Gaiser and the Chairman of the Russian Children’s Fund, academician and writer Albert Likhanov, the winner was congratulated by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tamara Nikolaev.

“In November of this year, you became the best in the essay competition based on the book“ Rules of Life ”by Janusz Korczak. Your work impressed the jury with its depth of disclosure of content, literacy and the ability to express your thoughts, you even formulated your rule of life: "everything in life is useful in moderation." Keep reading, discover new authors and new works. I’m sure that the books will help you determine your life, because very soon you will be faced with the choice of a profession and, perhaps, you will decide to become a philologist or writer, ”T. Nikolaeva delivered a parting speech.

The competition for the title of the best reader in Russia was organized last year in connection with the visit to the library named after S. Marshak Albert Likhanov. Then he told the library staff and guests about the book “Rules of Life” by Janusz Korczak and recommended that young readers pay special attention to this work. Likhanov also donated to the funds of 33 children’s and 20 municipal libraries of Komi 60 copies of this book. "Rules of Life" became the basis for an in absentia conference dedicated to Janusz Korczak.

During the conference, schoolchildren wrote essays and essays based on the book by Korczak. The work of Ulyana Ivakina, the jury recognized as the best among all. This information was transferred to Likhanov, for which he encouraged the young reader with a diploma and a gift edition of the works of A.S. Pushkin.
