Bob Marley’s murder novel becomes Booker’s favorite

LONDON. The Jamaican novel by Marlon James, A Brief History of the Seven Murders, has taken a leading position on the short list of nominees for one of Man Booker Prize 2015, one of the most prestigious English literary awards.

At the heart of this work of art that interested everyone is the real story of the attempted murder of cult reggae singer Bob Marley (1945-1981). The excitement around the book is caused precisely by the fact that it describes this little-known fact from the biography of the icon of the Rastamans. However, as literary critics point out, The Brief History of the Seven Murders deserves attention even without it. After all, otherwise she would not have been selected among 156 other works to participate in the final part of the Booker contest. Moreover, according to some authoritative British writers, Marlon James has a real chance of receiving the main cash prize of £ 50,000.

It is worth noting that for the second year in a literary contest not only works by English writers are allowed, but also works by authors of other nationalities who write in English and are published in Britain.
