The Bazhov Prize is now awarded in only three categories

YEKATERINBURG. Laureates of the Pavel Bazhov Literary Prize announced.

One of the oldest literary awards in Russia was founded in the jubilee for the famous Russian writer, folklorist, journalist Pavel Petrovich Bazhov in 1999. Among the writers and publicists who received this honorable literary award, there are such well-known names as Igor Sakhnovsky, Vladislav Krapivin, Nikolai Kolyada, Maya Nikulina.

The crisis has made adjustments to the number of nominations. Sections of children’s literature and journalism disappeared. The latter involved the award of the most interesting works on local history and journalism. The new rules by which the works sent to the 2016 competition were evaluated provide for awarding only in three categories: “Master of Poetry”, “Master of Prose” and “Use of the Case”. If the first two nominations do not require decryption, a few words should be said about the third. Any projects that stimulate interest in high-quality modern literature and contribute to its development can be submitted to the prize. The form of their embodiment may be arbitrary. In 2016, the poet from Chelyabinsk, Vitaliy Kalpidi, whose work was recognized abroad, was recognized as a master of poetry. Literary scholars call his poetic manner revolutionary.
