New books by Evgeny Yevtushenko will be released without him

MOSCOW. The widow of Yevgeny Yevtushenko spoke about the release of the poet’s new books.

The poem The Last Mammoth, written by Yevtushenko in 1956, seems prophetic. On April 1, a great poet passed away, the last of the legendary galaxy of inspired thawers. A considerable consolation for fans of Yevgeny Aleksandrovich’s talent, at least a little humble with the loss, was the news of the release of several new books this year. The poet did not interrupt work on them until the last days.

In July, the fifth volume of the “Anthology of Russian Poetry”, dedicated to poets of the sixties, will be released. The project, which the poet gave a quarter of a century, allowed readers to learn many new names and rediscover famous poets. A bibliographic rarity will also be the unfinished novel “Bering Tunnel,” which can rightfully be attributed to the genre of memoirs. Farewell excursion into childhood, youth, vivid impressions, unforgettable meetings, of which there were many for a long and incredibly eventful life.

One of the latest projects of Yevgeny Yevtushenko was the script of creative evenings with the participation of famous artists and musicians. They are scheduled for June and will certainly take place. But already without the main character.
