KRASNOYARSK. The first concert from the new series “Cultural Capitals of the World” took place in the regional philharmonic society.

One of the first projects of the new leader of the Regional Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra Vladimir Lande, who replaced Mark Kadin, was a cycle about the famous cultural capitals of the world. The interactive format involves free communication with the audience, the ability to ask questions to musicians, the conductor leading during the concert. The choice of the theme of the first evening, which was successfully held on February 6, was quite logical. St. Petersburg is the city in which the conductor was born, graduated from the conservatory, worked as accompanist in the Philharmonic Orchestra. Conducted the science of conducting in the classroom of the great Ilya Musin. Some musicians working as part of the orchestra also came from the city on the Neva. The main criterion for selection was the significance of St. Petersburg in the context of world culture. One of the most beautiful places on the planet is the city-museum, the architecture of which is called frozen music. The concert gave Krasnoyarsk a fascinating tour of St. Petersburg, an immersion in its musical history, a meeting with prominent personalities whose life and work were associated with this city.

An orchestra conducted by Lande performed the Fifth Symphony by Shostakovich, written in 1937. He defined her theme as becoming inevitable. It was music that “rehabilitated” the composer in the eyes of the authorities and critics who reproached him for the excessive complexity of his works and the absence of life-affirming rhetoric. The reality of the threat of physical destruction required an adequate response. The Fifth Symphony turned out to be an option that reconciled the general public with the composer’s innovative work. At least for a while. The triumphal reception arranged by the public on the day of the premiere was evidence of this.

Dmitry Kouzov, who performed the cello concert number 1 on the stage of the regional philharmonic, can also be called the "nestling of Petrov’s nest". A graduate of the Lyceum at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, the Music Academy in Helsinki, a professor at the University of Illinois, is one of the best cellists in the world, who conquered the Krasnoyarsk people with his virtuoso game.

A trip around the world with the Lande Orchestra has just begun. In the near future are Paris and Vienna.
