Volodin’s legendary play “Five Evenings” was first staged in Lenkom

MOSCOW. The long-awaited premiere of the play staged by one of the most famous plays by Alexander Volodin took place at the Lenkom Theater. The play "Five Evenings" was written by the playwright in the sixties and immediately became the object of criticism. But the audience was delighted with the images of the heroes of the play created by the legendary playwright.

Many theaters staged this play, the theater audience of the older generation remembers the productions of Tovstonogov and Efremov, which became the events of theatrical life of those years. The play “Five Evenings” was staged for the first time in Lenkom. Obviously, it was also the first time in this production that they fully told about the life of the main character. Volodin’s only remark says that his 17-year absence was connected with the Gulag. At that time, this topic could not be expanded due to censorship reasons.
