Sochi solemnly celebrates the anniversary of the Winter Theater in Sochi

SOCHI. In the popular Black Sea city of Sochi, in the most beautiful building of the resort, on November 20th, they celebrated their anniversary - the Winter Theater turned 75 years old. On this occasion, a gala reception was held at the theater. Sochi Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov, Vice Mayor Irina Romanets and other representatives of city organizations came to congratulate the theater staff on the anniversary, who considered it impossible to stay away from the important holiday for the resort city.

The celebration of the jubilee began with the presentation of a beautiful film telling the history of the theater. The building of the theater was erected in 1937. I. Stalin’s instruction to build a theater in the resort town was completed in record time - it took only two years to complete the construction.

The first spectators filled the theater hall on May 15, 1938. The first performance of the building that opened was the Tsar’s Bride opera performed by artists of the Nemirovich-Danchenko musical theater group. However, they decided to celebrate the anniversary of the theater on the eve of the celebration of the Day of the city of Sochi.

After watching the film, the guests learned a lot of details from the life of the theater in wartime, about later years, when the theater coped with ruin and desolation. The story of a secret box built for Stalin sounded from the screen.

All the guests of the holiday, who spoke with congratulations to the ministers of art, spoke about the revival of the traditions of the theater, about the significance of the work of its staff. The oldest ministers of the theater and philharmonic received awards and letters of appreciation.

Among the workers of the theater there are his peers, to this day continuing to work in it. Emma Levtsova devoted 45 years of her life to the theater - in April she celebrated her 75th birthday. The oldest theater workers were awarded with special awards.
