Yaroslavl Youth Theater named after Victor Rozov in honor of his thirtieth birthday

YAROSLAVL. In honor of the anniversary in the Yaroslavl Youth Theater on July 3, a gala evening was held, which brought together long-term fans of the theater. Some of them specially came from other cities to congratulate their favorite artists on the band’s thirty years. This anniversary date was a special holiday - the theater was named after the famous playwright Viktor Rozov.

The Youth Theater owes much of its appearance to Viktor Sergeyevich Rozov. When the construction of the building in the early 80s was frozen, and the opening of the theater was postponed indefinitely, the playwright managed to insist on continuing construction with his appeal to the USSR State Planning Committee.

In 1984, the theater building was built, and a year later, young actors presented to the public the premiere of the play "Eternally Alive", staged based on the play by V. Rozov. The theater was headed by the son of Viktor Sergeyevich - Sergey Rozov. The first director of the theater also came to the anniversary to congratulate the actors on their thirtieth birthday.

Together with his former colleagues, he listened to the order read out by the director of the regional department of culture, which said that now the theater will be named after Victor Sergeyevich Rozov. The youth theater team has been waiting for the main gift for the anniversary for several years.

In his response, Igor Larin, the theater’s chief director, noted that now the city has two theaters bearing the name of great people - the Volkov Theater, where many of the plays written by Rozov were staged, and the Victor Rozov Children’s Theater, on the stage of which the first performance became a famous playwright play.

Spectators who attended the anniversary evening were lucky enough to get in touch with the history of the theater, shown in extracts from plays, films. They saw how the theater has changed over the 30 years that have passed since the first day of its work
