In Sevastopol, the film festival "Victory Together" is held

SEVASTOPOL. On May 11, in Sevastopol, the opening of the XI International Festival of Documentary Films and Television Programs “Winning Together” took place. This year, the film forum is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. Moreover, the thematic component of the event consists not only of military films, but also of historical and cultural works.

The international jury will present awards in 5 main categories - Festival Grand Prix, award for the best feature film, prize for the best short film, award for the best documentary series, prize for the best television essay and others. Also at the festival will be awarded special awards "for their contribution to cinema and television." The winners of this award will be prominent figures in film and television. Journalists and spectators will also make their choice, who will present special prizes to the winners.

This year the jury of documentary films includes director and screenwriter Evgenia Golovnya, director and screenwriter Alexander Stefanovich, film expert Andrei Dementiev, board member of the Non-Fiction Film Guild Andrei Shemyakin. Gunnilla Breski, director and screenwriter of documentaries from Sweden, became the chairman of the jury of the documentary film competition. The jury of the TV show competition consists of producer Alexander Dines, director Valentin Kozubsky, film director from China Wu Jiang and adviser to the director general of VGTRK Grigory Taranenko. The jury of the TV show competition was led by producer David Schneider.

39 films (22 of which are premieres) from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, Italy, France, Sweden, Estonia and more than 20 countries of the world take part in the competition programs of the festival. Within the framework of the competition, the paintings “Parajanov’s Memoirs. Venetian Conversations ”directed by Tatyana Danilyants,“ Prayer for Water ”by Gulomnazar Soibnazarov,“ Genius in the House of the Prophet ”by Vladimir Marinov,“ Freedom Flowers ”by Miriam Leuts,“ Place of Work: Boarding School No. 3 ”by Ippolita Kupriyanova,“ I Laugh ”by Alena Zavyalova and others.

Famous Russian documentary filmmakers Andrei Osipov, “House on the Main Street”, and Ivan Tverdovsky, “Grumant. The Island of Communism ”, Mikhail Degtyar -“ Our Armored Train ”, Sergey Debizhev -“ The Last Knight of the Empire ”and others.

Traditionally, the festival’s competitive program includes films on historical and military themes - “Forgotten Partisan” directed by Tahir Tairovits, “Forgotten Battle at Cape Sarych” by Grigory Ilugdin, “Russian Spring” by Svetlana Rezvushkina, “Searching means Remembering” by Marina Trush and Vladimir Samorodov, "Fragments of Fate" by Yegor Ganaratsky, "Undefeated Garrison" by Igor Kalyadin and others.

Starting this year, one of the main venues for the festival of documentary films and television programs “Victory Together” has become the area of Sevastopol - Balaklava Bay. Also, competitive and non-competitive screenings of films are traditionally held in the Moscow and Pobeda cinemas, in the Officers’ House, in the Center for Culture and Leisure in Balaklava and for the first time in the Balaklava Underground Museum Complex.
