The premiere of the performance "Stalkers" was held at the festival of art "Access Point"
ST. PETERSBURG. The first performance shown to the audience in the theater program of the festival of art "Access Point" was the work of three authors - Zhenya Anisimov, Alexander Mashanov and Boris Pavlovich, who decided to continue the theme of Tarkovsky’s great film "Stalker". Everyone who watched this film remembers its ending - the heroes of the film reached the room where their desires should be fulfilled.
The authors of the play “Stalkers”, the idea of which was born by Alexander Mashanov, one of his directors, again immerse the audience in the world created by Tarkovsky, allowing them to find out what could happen to each of the characters in the future. Three famous playwrights were tasked with writing a sequel to the final scene of the film. Each of the playwrights created his own version, where in the foreground was the story of one of the characters.
The main character of the playwright Maria Zelinsky was Stalker, Alexey Slyusarchuk - the Writer, and in the version created by Maxim Kurochkin - the Professor. When staging the performance “Stalkers”, which was presented to the audience on July 24, all three texts were used. Each of the directors of the play also performs one of the roles.
The audience was especially interested in the choice of space for the show. It is shown in the basements of Petrikirche (Lutheran church, where the structures of the pool that was once located there). The questions raised by the authors in the play created and played by them sound even more dramatic here. The performance "Stalkers" viewers will be able to watch for a whole week.
The next day, July 25, Konstantin Uchitel for the first time in Russia will present Brecht’s play “Refugee Conversations”. To show his performance, the director chose the space of the Finland Station.
