The theater laboratory "Plays that we did not stage at all" began work in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG. On July 9, the opening of a theater laboratory took place at the Art Dimension creative center, in which texts by Yuri Klavdiev will be used. The laboratory will be held within two months, will end on September 9. On the first day of the project, the first rehearsal was held by Mikhail Smirnov, the chief director of the Baltic Fleet Theater.

His directorial work was the play “I am a Machine Gunner” written by Yuri Klavdiev, a famous screenwriter and playwright. Films based on scripts by Yuri Klavdiev are familiar to viewers. Among them are such as "School", "Flint", "Everyone will die, and I…". The playwright also wrote a substantial number of plays, most of which have not yet been staged in theaters.

After the rehearsal, the project organizers met with the rest of the laboratory. Yuri Korolevsky, project manager, spoke about his main tasks.

He noted its main goal - to draw public attention to theatrical processes and phenomena of the modern world, to make people understand how important and necessary searches and experiments are for the theater today. The opened laboratory is the first step taken by its participants in this direction.

The organizers said that the laboratory will consist of several stages, during which the play will be read, the sketch prepared, and shown before the commission. A certain time is allocated for each stage. Then, the participants will prepare a performance for the commission within two weeks, and a month later it will be shown on the stage of "Art Measurement". The laboratory will end with a festival, the program of which will show the best works of the project.

Spectators who want to see the performances created within the laboratory will be given such an opportunity.
