Awards to the best film debuts in the oil capital of Russia

Khanty-Mansiysk. The winners of the 16th film debut festival “Spirit of Fire” have been announced.

The cultural life of the oil capital of Russia is active and diverse. There are theaters, art centers, concert halls, libraries, an art gallery, the Torum Maa ethnographic open-air museum, and the Archeopark tourist complex. Since 2003, one of the local "highlights" - the International Film Debut Festival "Spirit of Fire", created and led by Sergei Solovyov. This year marks the 15th anniversary of its founding. The main motto and theme of the debut works is love in its various manifestations.

At the close of the festival on March 7, the names of the winners were announced. In the category of full-length domestic films, several awards at once, including the main one - “Golden Taiga” - received the directorial debut of a native of Khanty-Mansiysk Alexander Hunt about Vitka Chesnok and his inconspicuous father, Lyoshka Shtyr. Road movie featuring Alexei Serebryakov, who starred in this movie for free, and Evgenia Tkachuk collected a whole bunch of prizes at domestic and foreign festivals last year: in Helsinki, Vyborg, Hamburg, Yalta, Honfleur, Grand Prix in Karlovy Vary. The story of a former orphanage child trying to take a disabled father to a nursing home, a former felon who was in the midst of a criminal showdown and faced a difficult choice.
