In Thailand, named after the best young artist

Hataiwan Thepmalee, a schoolgirl from Chonburi, outstripped 108 participants and received the title of Thailand’s Best Young Artist 2012. The 17-year-old girl from Darasamutr School took first place and was awarded the prestigious Royal Prize, which has been awarded by His Majesty the King of Thailand since 2008.

The award ceremony was held at the recently opened luxury hotel Sukhothai Hotel. The annual competition is designed to promote the development of young Thai artists, as well as to ensure that their work is allowed to enter the UK galleries. The finalist canvases after the award ceremony will travel with an escort to London aboard Jet Airways and will be available to art lovers at Overseas House.

The picture is now officially the best young Thai artist Hataiwan in her words depicts modern Thai family life and the impact of technology on the interaction of people. “Technology makes communication easier and more convenient, but on the other hand, it makes us antisocial,” she says. “We ignore the families and people around us. Although the people in the picture are in the same room, they do not look at each other. They live only in the square of their hands, as if they live in their own world. ”

Jim Napier, Chairman of the Royal Council in Thailand, said that the level of participants in the contest in 2102 was very high, and the judges decided to award several second and third places at once. “This was a competition of exceptional quality,” he said. “Despite the fact that there can be only one winner, the judges were forced to admit that this time there was no serious superiority of the winner over the winners.”
