How to write a song for the girl you love?

What loving man doesn’t want to surprise, endlessly please his beloved and bring her happiness? One of the proven and effective ways to make a girl hang on your neck, showering you with kisses, is a song.

It is an original song, a serenade, the words for which you will take from your own heart, from your soul. Of course, you can remake the finished composition to suit yourself, but let’s not cheat. So how do you write your own song?

Where to begin? There are two options: first write the text, and then the music for it, and vice versa. Considering that not every person has the talent of a composer, we will consider the first method as the easiest.

First, decide on the general atmosphere of the song: will it be a lyrical ballad that will make tears flow from your eyes, or a rhythmic, incendiary song that will make you want to lock yourself in the bedroom. The answer lies in the character of your beloved, so it is important to understand what exactly will conquer her. Once you have decided what your future song will be, move on.

Starting from the first solution, start writing the text. The surest way is to sing about your shared memories, since here you don’t need to look for words for a long time - the heart itself will tell you. If the relationship has just begun, then we fill the song with a kind of “promises”: how you will make your beloved the happiest in the world, that there will be no worries, that you will always protect her, understand, listen, and so on. Give her a preview of your incredible future life together.

If you have problems with rhyme, you can turn to your friends: one head is good, but two are better. You can find rhymes for the word on a special website. The main thing is that the main idea of the song is yours.

The language in which the text is written is not at all important here, the main thing is that the listener fully understands the meaning of the song, but foreign speech can help you. For example, if your love is studying, say, French, then you can try hard and write a song in French. Damn romantic and useful. When the text is ready, take up the music.

It would be ideal to have a musician as a friend. But if this is not the case, it doesn’t matter. First, we’ll decide what kind of music there will be: a soundtrack or live, performed by you or hired people (if you don’t have any problems with funds). Having chosen the first option, you find a composer, send the text, he writes the music, and at the same time he can help with the vocal part, that is, with how you will have to sing your own words. This concludes the songwriting process.

Having chosen the second option, we must first decide on the instrument on which you will perform your creation (again, if you do not hire an orchestra for this). Let’s consider the two most popular, melodic, and most importantly, practical options:

• Guitar (and any other types of strings, there are no barriers to your imagination).
• Keyboards (piano, piano, synthesizer, grand piano (!), if possible).

Both tools have their pros and cons, both in general and for this situation.

To learn to play your own creation on the guitar, you will need 1-2 months if you have never held it in your hands before and if you are not going to perform a rock opera. Naturally, to achieve a better result, you can work with a guitar teacher, explaining what you want in the end. But you can also do it yourself by watching video tutorials on YouTube, learning chords and, most importantly, practicing.

The performance possibilities are almost limitless: fingerpicking (holding a chord, you pluck each string in turn, there are many options), chord strumming (holding a chord and hitting the strings with your finger or a pick), using a “clothespin” or slide, and so on.

It is better to focus on the first two, as they require the least time to practice.

Picking minor chords (sadder ones) is ideal for ballads if your goal is to touch a girl, but nothing prevents you from using it in a cheerful song - major chords (optimistic) are more suitable here.

Chord strumming is universal, it is perfect for both moods, everything, again, depends on the minor and major.

The big challenge is learning to play the guitar and sing at the same time. Often, here you have to sacrifice something: either take a primitive guitar part, or a vocal one, or make sure that the rhythmic patterns of both parts coincide and are identical - you sing at the same time as you play, so your brain will not be torn between the two different things.

If you have time left, go for it, you can overcome this too.

You also need to decide on the arrangement so that there is no feeling that something is missing in the music, and the melody sounds one-sided. An excellent solution would be to perform in a duet, but the role of the vocalist is still on you.

If you can’t sing, be sure to take vocal lessons. If you have no ear for music, you can read the lyrics of the song like poetry - beautifully, with expression, with arrangement, there are no problems here.

It is best to use an acoustic guitar, as it is the most practical and convenient instrument. You do not need additional equipment, and besides, all girls adore the sound of acoustics if it is done for the sake of it. If neither you nor your friends have a guitar, you can easily rent one.

The situation is very similar with keyboards, but they have a little more advantages.

Firstly, you can handle everything alone, performing more complex arrangements: pressing chords with one hand, strumming the melody with the other, while also singing.

Secondly, even the lightest melodies can sound sensual and cause goosebumps on your loved one’s skin. The volume range of this instrument helps here - the same piano, banally, is louder than a guitar, and if you do everything correctly, you will hear the girl’s heart beating to the beat of your melody.

Otherwise, the principle is the same.

The most convenient keyboard variation would be a synthesizer, due to its portability (you can just take it with you) and sound capabilities (you can even imitate the sound of a guitar on it). An acoustic sound setting is best suited, as if you were playing a real piano, upright piano or grand piano.

So, when you have a ready-made text, you have decided on an instrument, composed the music, know how to sing and how to play, rehearsed, and are ready for action - go ahead!
