We present a new exhibition of works by the Moscow artist and designer Karina Ghazaryan, made in the technique of "white relief", the possibilities of which she has been exploring since 2001.

The first exhibition of white reliefs by Karina Ghazaryan was held at the Armenian Embassy in Russia in 2004. Subsequently, several solo exhibitions were held in famous Moscow and foreign galleries.

The “white relief” style, literally “inherited”, passed on to Karina by her godfather, artist and sculptor Rudolf Khachatryan, combines drawing and relief, light and shadow, natural forms and abstraction.

Several layers of cardboard, stacked on top of each other, create a complex game of lines, shadows and volumes. The transfer of these forms to the “white relief” state symbolizes the work of time - the inevitable movement of everything from being to non-being, the gradual transformation of reality into a symbol and myth. In the process of this transition, the form and essence of each object is revealed in a new way to the viewer.

Optical illusion and multidimensionality in the artist’s 3D paintings, finely thought-out illumination of each object turns them into an exclusive decor element, creates unusual color and light reliefs in the design of the environment, both in interiors and exteriors.

The moving, changing, transforming form is one of the main topics in the work of Karina Ghazaryan, both as an artist and as a clothing designer.

Karina Ghazaryan graduated from the A.N. Kosygin Moscow State Textile Academy in 1996. Since 1997 - a member of the International Union of Artists. In 2006, she defended her thesis at the All-Russian Research Institute of Technical Aesthetics and Design (VNIITE), on the topic "Evolution and involution of multidimensional artistic images in clothing design."

As a clothing designer, she has released several collections under the KAZARIAN brand (the brand is registered in the FavorisFashion European fashion directory).

Since 2004, designer collections have been shown at Fashion Weeks in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Urals. And in 2005, at the invitation of Pierre Cardin, the designer presented her collection at the Pret-a-porterParis exhibition.

Karina Ghazaryan is the author of the uniform and equipment design for the sports teams of Russia and the Paralympic teams.

In 2010 she was awarded for her contribution to the development of fashion.
